Why are so many bands/artists either naming themselves after an animal, or including "animal" in some way to their name, album, or songs? I don't get it. I wouldnt be surprised if a band steals the thread title to this for a band name or song title "Animals Here, Animals There"

I guess because animals are visual, and many have pre conceived notions attatched to them so that when a band writes a song about one they can possibly draw correct conclusions about it's meaning.
Pink Floyd's album 'Animals' is named that because throughout the lyrics relate and parallel the actions/attitudes of animals to people.
I am actually working to form a prog-rock band called "A World Without Animals." It challenges the listener because the name immediately evokes thoughts of animals, but also requires the listener to conjure a world in which no animals exist.

Why do I drink a smoothie every morning? Because it's delicious, and because I can.

Tough call. Before I started making my own every morning, I would usually go with a strawberry banana or a peach apple sort of mix. However, here's what I do now: I buy frozen raspberries, blackberries, strawberries and peaches. I throw those in with a banana, yogurt (any flavor - french vanilla, strawberry, etc...) and apple juice. Blend and enjoy.
Love starting my day that way.

Shit. I need to get a new blender and start doing that. My stomach is growling for that now. Going to have to stop at Jamba Juice on the way to work. I've never heard of using apple juice before. This is something I must try

Of course they can, I'm not saying they can't. I just wanted to know if there was some meaning behind the RECENT animal named bands/albums... Like a underground movement or something to that "nature" that I was unaware of. Or is it just the trend of 2010?
All things aside, I want a smoothie now.

Maybe it is man's natural magnetic tether to the wild realm of the animalistic lifestyle.
Or, it's because most animal references sound rad.
Seriously it's hard to not want a smoothie after someone inadvertently mentions it - crap..

Hardly a 2010 trend if we are only 2 weeks in, and they probably didn't form in these two weeks.

Right. But I am seeing more and more as the new year appears.

Let's think of all the American screamo (skramz) bands with Latin or Greek or French names.
There's no trend or fad. It's just coincidence. If you look hard enough for something, you're gonna find it.

Lions (& Vultures), Deadly Animals (love these guys), Ke$ha "animal", Animal Collective, etc. Click "Search" at the top and type in Animal. Plenty comes up.
I'm not trying to prove anyone wrong by this, just having general conversation. So don't feel like I'm attacking you.

True. I don't know, you could be right. I just haven't noticed it significantly. I don't think new bands say things like "let's include animals in our band names because everyone's doing it" or anything along those lines. We're running out of names. We gotta expand to bad names like that.

I'm sure it's more coincidence than trend

It's not just in music either. Look at the mascots of sports teams. What are they usually? Animals. It's not some trend or anything. People have been naming things after animals for thousands of years.

I always used to use orange juice, but I swear - apple juice makes the smoothie 100x better. And let me also say that my blender is one of my most prized possessions in my apartment. You can get a fine blender for $50 and it will pay major dividends in the form of great smoothies, shakes, and any alcoholic drink you could want.
(I feel like an infomercial for blenders, but they're really that good!)
Animals are punk. They are not posers. People that hunt animals are posers. They are not punk.
