I have a bad feeling about it.

Well, not a horrible feeling, but a pretty bad one.

I think it'd be a sweet rental so i could watch it with people at my place, but it's not a movie I think i'm gonna need to see in theaters.

1) in the first trailer, it said from the director of: Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, J&SB:SB, and Jersey Girl. Then it crossed out Jersey Girl. Kevin Smith is not that proud of hta tmovie, and I don't think its really part of the same series.

2)Have you seen the R-rated trailer on ifilm? I'm pretty sure there is a shit ton of stuff that will be hilarious taht wasn't in the previews.

I am still skeptical, and I Lovvvvved clerks. I will still see it, and have high hopes as of now for it.

I saw this at vulgarthon (the view askew movie festival they do every so often). After the debacle that was jersey girl, i went into this with bated breath.

Let me say that this movie is probably filthier than anything he's ever done. Randal is in top form (jeff anderson might pick up an independent spirit award -- he's that good), Dante is hilarious, and rosario dawson's character is a fox. It's funnier than all hell, and it's sweet too - so if the little woman can put up with ass-to-mouth jokes, this is a good one to take them to. Serious.

My final verdict, without ruining anything:

This movie is kevin smith making up for JG. It's almost as if he felt the need to wash the stench of PG-13 off of him, and he did so through randal. Check it out if you liked the first one, i think people will like it if they can get over the fact that it's not set in the quick stop again (well, for most of it)

sweet. yeah, kevin smith posted on his website that he was completely shocked when they sent it to the MPAA and it came back with an R. They were expecting an NC-17 like they got with Clerks and Strike Back.

If it's written like the original Clerks then I'm cool. I mean I'm watching it now and the writing is really entertaining. But it'll be gay if he writes it more like Mallrats/jay and silent bob.

I saw some part where they argue who shoos first, Han or Greedo.

No one actually ever argues that. Everyone knows Han shot, not first but ONLY. Then Lucas changed it and no one buys the change.

End argument.

remember in chasing amy banky constantly uses words like 'gay' as an insult. at the end of the film it turns out he's actually gay... think about it

ben stiller... yeah

and you're wrong. banky is actually gay. kevin smith has said it before and also if you watch the end of j&sbsb you find out that banky is fucking hooper

ben affleck, my bad, its late.

and oh. but J&SB:SB sucked...so i igonore everything from it. it was far too slapstick and not enough good dialogue (a la clerks, chasing amy) and not enough intelligence (a la dogma). But let's not debate that in this thread.

One because i want to sleep, and two because there are plenty of other kevin smith threads.

Don't know if anyone cares in this thread, but...

Kevin Smith writes a class-act blog at www.silentbobspeaks.com . If nothing else, go back a few months in the archives and read the set of articles he wrote about how he met Jason Mewes , the kid's subsequent fall into drugs (and rise and fall and rise and fall and rise) and how much hell it wreaked on the family. It's amazingly written, and those, if nothing else, should give you some saiety as to whether or not his writing is up to snuff.

Plus there's a post about properly fucking one's wife/lover in the ass. Pretty hilarious.
