At a recent show in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Jared Leto of 30 Seconds To Mars (http://www.30secondstomars.com/) announced that the band would be taking an indefinate amount of time off so that he can focus on "other things" for a while.

even though everyone hates jared, i still had a fun time hanging out with the dude for a night...and 30 seconds isnt too bad. kind of weird though cause he seemed like he was in it for a while with the band.

I think it's funny how the band does this right when "The Kill" is big on MTV and radio, their first big hit since "Capricorn" came out. But hey, Jared's gotta make the movin' pictures, so let's hope for the best.

I've never seen 30 Seconds To Mars on MTV so I'd like to know when they've been on. As far as him sticking to being an actor, he is good at it. But, he moved out to L.A. to be a musician, he just so happened to land some good parts and his acting career took off. If you've never seen these guys live you're missing out because they all put on a great energetic show.

I prefer him as a singer, rather than an actor. Most of his movies are pretty much mediocre or he's given a small part. He should stick with being a musician considering his music has made somewhat of a positive impact.

I said most, there are exceptions. His role in Fight Club wasn't all that special and he wasn't even in that movie that long. I'm just saying he isn't given big parts to play and that most of his movies are lame & mediocre. Unless he doesn't care about that? I don't know. That's why I think his musicial career seems it would suit him better. Of course, if he wasn't an actor first, his band would be nowhere today.

i like both of their albums, but the newer one is better and from yesterday is such a great song. leto's not really that great of an actor but he's been in some pretty sweet movies, so maybe he can land a couple more supporting roles and then get back to making music

I saw Jared get "escorted" the other night in DC at 9:30 Club. He really is quite good looking in person. But I would suggest watching The Audition and June if you see this show. They really sounded amazing.

A Beautiful Lie was one of my favorite releases last year, definately came out of nowhere. It's kind of interesting that they're taking a break right now though because it seems like the band is just starting to take off.

I saw them in Saratoga NY last week. The audition definitely tore down the house and June surprised me. However the local radio station who sponsored the show has started calling these dudes 30 Minutes to Mars because it took them almost an hour to come on after sound checks finished. 30STM put on a sick show though, he (jared) def uses more effects on his voice live than most punk acts but their drummer beats the shit out of things and From Yesterday, Attack, And the Kill were all amazing live. Jared also came out and did a few tunes off the first CD solo before the encore and was taking requests from the crowd, and they stayed and did a meet/greet signing if you bought a copy of the CD for $10 Didn't seem like an asshole to me
