I don't really get why everyone says they're overrated and that they're a fad band, they debuted in 2003 with their own style of pop/hardcore-ish music, I'm not exactly sure but did anyone else sound like them at the time? While I agree with you about alternative press being morons, this website (AP) is extremely biased towards bands like A Day to Remember. I can't speak for the other two websites cause i'm not familiar with them but you can't really base an opinion of a band just because a review says that they're bad. I know that you don't like ADTR and i'm not going to change your opinion of them, but it's just a thought.

Reviews aren't the final say in the quality of music, it comes down to the listener's tastes. Obviously you have strong opinions on these guys but can you not accept that their music appeals to some people? Or is your opinion more important than everyone else's?

Thats exactly how I feel too, I think they actually write some pretty good pop-punk parts. But I'm listening to the stuff on their myspace page right now and the breakdowns sound really out of place to me. Their screaming / growling / whatever is really bad as well.

For the most part I enjoyed it. The plot was incredibly ridiculous, but the story was still interesting and the gameplay was terrific. The Washington DC level never gets old.

The album was completely emotional and dealt with all the hardships that the band had faced, and I felt like that was completely evident in the album. I felt the emotion from the songs - they weren't just some random songs they decided to write, they were real, heartfelt songs.

Now I know a lot of you will say my music taste is bad and I need to go find another album by a "better band" that I can relate with - but that's irrelevant here. I enjoy this band for what it is, I don't make it out to be the best band in the world by any means. And I've heard it from the band themselves - they write the breakdown parts because that's what they enjoyed growing up in the Ocala scene, and they wanted to give their fans an opportunity to experience the same things that they did. It obviously worked -- look at the crowds that came out to see them at Warped last year. If you don't like it, that's fine. What I like about this band is the emotion. They have a greater connection with their fans than a lot of other bands do, I respect them for that.

Here's what I think... when I first heard Homesick I was able to instantly connect with the lyrics. It was pretty cool to hear a bunch of songs on one album that I could relate to entirely. The album was completely emotional and dealt with all the hardships that the band had faced, and I felt like that was completely evident in the album. I felt the emotion from the songs - they weren't just some random songs they decided to write, they were real, heartfelt songs.

Now I know a lot of you will say my music taste is bad and I need to go find another album by a "better band" that I can relate with - but that's irrelevant here. I enjoy this band for what it is, I don't make it out to be the best band in the world by any means. And I've heard it from the band themselves - they write the breakdown parts because that's what they enjoyed growing up in the Ocala scene, and they wanted to give their fans an opportunity to experience the same things that they did. It obviously worked -- look at the crowds that came out to see them at Warped last year. If you don't like it, that's fine. What I like about this band is the emotion. They have a greater connection with their fans than a lot of other bands do, I respect them for that.

Come on now, this band has a lot of talent and are one of the best for putting on a kick-ass live show. I would have to say A Shot In The Dark is my favourite. It's tough to pick though because the entire For Those Who Have Heart album is so unreal.



The live show is the worst part about this band.

Ok, this is what I gathered from reading my own post. It was basically just a post about respecting music even though it has become hard to do when the raw sound becomes so digitally diluted. And i wouldn't say a disgusting amount, its definitely pretty prevalent in some songs, but the vocalist does have talent. A disgusting amount would be like breathe carolina.

And that's perfectly fine, but he said that he has emotional connection to the band and it means a lot to him. He didn't go out of his way to say that ADTR is the greatest band on earth.
