A user submitted some insightful words regarding the Lifetime (http://www.myspace.com/lifetimenj) show in D.C. last night:
I saw Lifetime live tonight at the 930 club in DC. Of course, lifetime tore things apart and showed no signs of aging. They played about 17 or 18 songs, including just about every song off of "Jersey's Best Dancers," most of "Hello Bastards," and the b-side "Somewhere in the swamps of Jersey." But the real news comes in the new song they played, which they said was the first time they'd ever played it. And anybody that has ANY doubts about this band's new material since signing with Pete Wentz, please think again. The new song was just as tight, just as fast, just as loud, and just as raw as anying else they've ever written, if not more so. It was everything a Lifetime song should be. Just thought I'd chime in!

No one talks about them.
They come back.
Suddenly everyone here loves them?
Give me a break.
I'll check the album out, since I love their older stuff. I'm just hoping they do something to change it up a bit...

I'm seeing them tonight and tomorrow night.
Anyone know if they played "Star Sixty Nine" or any other 'old' songs last night?

So true.
I remember when the reunion shows were announced last summer and everyone thought the "secret" show at the Stone Pony that Sunday was going to be Taking Back Sunday and Brand New.

Secondly, everyone here does not love them. I'm willing to bet about 90% of the people on this site hadn't even heard about them prior to this year

lyrics don't come much more honest than lifetime.

you're right, i had never heard of lifetime before this year. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that i can't stand their music, or that type of music at all... thats probably why i never had heard of them. It really doesn't matter, to the guy who said we should respect what they've done for the scene, sure i can respect them.... that doesn't mean i can't think the music is absolute shit.

The show Sunday is going to be soooooo incredible. Front-to-back solid lineup; no annoying people in the crowd; just utter fucking awesomeness.

What, punk rock?

fuck you. go listen to brand new and panic at the disco. bands like lifetime paved the way for every band you listen to. the fact that you can't appreciate punk rock just shows how ignorant this generation is. god dammit kids like you piss me off.
but at the same time, i'm super stoked you don't like it, because that's one less ignorant asshole i have to put up with at shows.
its funny to think, that durring the duration of the band, lifetime didnt get half the respect the deserve, and yet they signed to a label that, durring its durration, the bandmember that owned the label got about 20.000 times the respect he deserved...

dude that show was great, and i'd agree, the new song sounds like it could be off any of their old albums.

Wow, I like Brand New, I don't really care for Lifetime. Just because Lifetime influenced Brand New doesn't mean Brand New fans will like them. That guy said he can respect them, but does not enjoy the music. I can appreciate what Lifetime have done, but I don't like their music, or that sort of 'punk rock' in general. That doesn't make me ignorant, you don't choose what music you enjoy.
