I missed the first act because I did not feel like going in for them.
Chip Tha Ripper, a local Cleveland rapper who has had some national exposer was direct support and played a headlining length set. Chip is huge around here but I have never been overly impressed with him and his set did nothing for me to feel any different. It was hype-man free, which is always a plus for me but he was just boring up on stage and the sound wasn't turned up loud enough either.
Kid Cudi destroyed it and was awesome. I have been to all three of his hometown shows and each time it has been at bigger and bigger venus all met with sellouts. Tickets for this show were going for upwards of $130.00 a ticket before the show started tonight. The crowd was super in to it - singing along, dancing, jumping around and Cudi was loving being back home. He played a lengthy set and went through a good mix of the mixtape and album. Kid Cudi had a lot of energy and kept up with the crowd through the whole 75 minute set. My only problem with it was that he had a pretty crazy light show last tour and this time he didn't. Most of the songs were done in full with only two (I think) not done in-full and obviously the ones with guest spots were not done in full. Heat Of A Lion was done acapella for the second half - which was so awesome and Cudi spit what he said was "off the top of head" freestyle to a beat he's never done a freestyle over and it was also good but Day N Nite seemed to have some sound and energy problems as it started out with the Crookers Remix but then went in to a down-temp version. Overall, Kid Cudi put on a great show and the crowd ate it right up.

The show was packed, the crowd was good and it was worth the $45 I spent on a ticket. It's been interesting to watch him from Grog Shop-size shows to headlining theaters. I can only bet he'll be playing a outdoor venue next time he comes back home.
