...with Hitch headlining all the major multimedia format releases? i mean, first it was "oh em gee! hitch is on UMD!" now Sony is pimping it out as one of the first Blu-Ray discs to be released.
i just don't understand why hitch is such a big deal... there have been hundreds of movies just like it. doesnt make any god damned sense to me.

No idea. Never seen the movie myself but I never wanted to. My roomate last semester watched it like forty times after it was released on DVD.
I nearly shot myself a couple times. Plus it was in fullscreen and I'd always take a glance over at the TV and cringe.

It's because it has a lot of vibrant colors that can effectively show off the new format. IGN had an article that covered this exact topic.

haven't you heard? Will Smith sells. you want to make millions of dollars? get will smith. im not even being sarcastic. you'd be hard pressed to find anybody that creates revenue quite like him. not that its justified, that's just how it is.

UMD is the format that plays on the PSP. It doesn't sell well anyways.

blu-ray cam about faster than I thought. I remember reading articles about it just a year or 2 ago. I wonder how long before it really picks up though.

I've been searching for about 15 mins for the article, but can't seem to find it. I'll post it when I do.

i wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't pick up and just dies out in a matter of a couple years.

I don't get what's so wrong with DVDs.

nothing is wrong with them. it's just now there is something that allows better picture and sound. same thing as when DVD came out (except for the fact that DVD had the advantage of being smaller than VHS, whereas HD-DVD/Blu-Ray are pretty much the same size as DVD)
I'm sure you knew that already though.

blu-ray sounds cool. it will probably win the HD-DVD/Blu-Ray war.

The upgrade from VHS to DVD was huge. Now it's just about quality, and I don't see enough of a problem with my DVD quality to justify re-buying all of my DVDs on a new format.

I haven't seen Hitch. Does Big Will say "I gotta get me one-a these!" or "*punch* Welcome to earth"?
HHHHA. No, but he does say "I'm just a little anxious to get up there and whup E.T.'s ass.". Then everyone stares at him wondering what he is talking about.
