I saw Weatherbox in L.A. this fall, there were like 20 people there and it was at this sick venue/bar up on the 2nd floor. I've been to so many shows, big and small, but this was probably one of my top 2 or 3 of all time. The other ones would have to be the various times I saw Brand New

Mine has to be Radiohead at Reading 09.

That was an amazing set, but the best gig I've been to is probably Patrick Wolf at Birmingham Academy 2 with support from Yacht. Aw man that was so good. Hellogoodbye at Oxford will always hold a special place in my heart, and recently I saw Dananananaykroyd with Dinosaur Pile-Up there and that was incredible even though I didn't know a single song.

I saw Pop Disaster in Camden, NJ. It was an incredible show. I still have (and occasionally wear) my blink 182 shirt from that concert.

It's a toss-up for me between seeing a private John Mayer show on 12/28/04 at Webster Hall where he played all blues covers (essentially a precursor to Trio), and Nickel Creek at The Pageant in STL.

I don't think I've ever had another show that made me feel like that one did. It honestly didn't even feel like it was real, it was like I was in a movie or maybe dreaming. My seats were insane, and at the end when they were going crazy during the last part of "Don't Wanna Miss A Thing," all sorts of confetti and glitter fell from the ceiling. Everyone was just singing, covered in all this stuff, smiling and laughing like it was the greatest moment of their life. Totally unforgettable.

Haha, who isn't? Just making sure you're not being forced to sit in while it rains again.

BEST SHOW OF ALL TIME!

Butch Walker on the Rise and Fall tour: Detroit, August 1 2006: It was the hottest fucking day of the year, hovering at about 98 outside and well over 100 in the club. When we walked out, it was like getting out of a pool we were so fucking drenched. They started spraying the audience with hoses a bit before Butch went on and we kept refilling our one water bottle to make sure we didn't pass out. And some idiots were still drinking and smoking in there. Still, when piano time came around, you could have heard a pin drop and I've never heard better versions of those songs (Joan and Dominoes).

Butch Walker on the Sycamore Meadows tour: Grand Rapids, March 2009: Saw him two days in a row that weekend, the night before in Detroit, but I was front and center for this one, like a foot or two away from him. Great setlist; got a guitar pick and he climbed right over my brother and I to come down into the audience.

Bruce Springsteen: November 13th, 2009: Best show I've ever been to, hands down. Just over a week before the end of the tour and before the much talked about hiatus, Bruce played for three hours, including the Born to Run album in full. When he started playing Thunder Road, it just gave me chills. Seeing all of those songs live and singing along at the top of my lungs was pretty much the best night ever. And I touched his neck.

Thursday about a month ago. best live band i've ever seen and best experience i've ever had.

A few come to mind...

I saw Thursday headlining Strhess Fest in Cleveland, and that was fantastic. At that time, there was a really good chance the band was going to break up and they had no more shows scheduled after that one. They even touched on it at the concert, saying it could be their last show in America ever. I just felt like there was some kind of a crazy urgency, even more than a normal Thursday show.

Then I saw Brand New at the Grog Shop (THE FUCKING GROG SHOP? WHAT?) at the end of this summer. In a club that holds about 300-400, I sat on the bar and was still about 20-25 feet away but I had the best view. They played the most fan-friendly and intimate set ever, featuring random b-sides (that I am proud to say I knew the lyrics to), old songs, and lesser played songs off TDAGARIM, as well as three new songs that no one had really heard before. To top it off, before the show was even over, half the band had stopped by the bar and had a beer with me. It was pretty cool talking to Vinnie about the new record and then discussing the best IPAs with Brian. Made my summer.

But my favorite show has to be Brand New, Thrice and mewithoutYou at House of Blues. Thrice was so on point and mewithoutYou was great. Honestly, how can you top this lineup? Three of my all time favorite bands.
This was during the TDAGARIM touring cycle, so then Brand New played a shit ton off of that record, including Limousine, which was so fucking epic. I don't think I've seen them play it since, and it's one of my favorite songs. They played an 18 song set (including a NMH cover) and it just blew my mind because of how into it Jesse was and how well the songs played into the intimacy of the House of Blues.

A Day To Remember every time ive seen them (10 times) More importantly the time I saw them at the Stone Pony in 2006 when they opened the show for Bayside and The Sleeping. Aerosmith in 2004 or 2005? at the Beacon Theater in NYC was amazing. There were maybe 200 people there?

Brand New played at a venue in my hometown before YFW came out, they played a christmas show unanounced. It was amazing.

This may be frowned upon by a few of you, but My Chemical Romance with Rise Against on their Black Parade tour was great. My Chem played "The Black Parade" in its entirety then played about 7 older songs. But Rise Against was so on during that show! Everything got so intense that there were floods of people leaving the pit.

Other than that, the Cage The Elephant, Manchester Orchestra, Silversun Pickups tour was fantastic. CTE opened with a pure punk-alternative set, so energetic with the lead singer eventually crawling onto the stack of amps. Manchester is just a great live band. They have been spot on every time that I see them. Then Silversun Pickups played such a great show, I was blown away. It was a packed house at Sokol, and they basically burned it down.

Manchester Orchestra in March '08, mostly because I hadn't really listened to them much beforehand, so they blew me away even more than they probably would've if I'd already been a big fan. "I Can Barely Breathe" gave me the biggest chills.

Probably R.E.M. in 1999 at Jones Beach. One of my first "big" concerts, first time I was seeing a favorite band live, amazing setlist (especially since I love Up), great night for an outdoor show and Patti Smith was on hand for an encore of "Ebow the Letter". I'll never forget the acoustic version of "Why Not Smile", just Mike and Michael. And "Nightswimming"! I've seen some awesome shows since but I think this one will be in the top spot for a long time.

well i saw the two times in october and it was a pretty good mix of a few songs from each LP (none from the first ep) and 3 new songs. but i heard they changed their set for new years with alot of old songs so i'm not sure which set you'll see. you won't be disappointed though!
