Bayside (http://www.baysiderocks.com) is getting ready to record their followup to last year's self titled album. The new album is titled The Walking Wounded. More details below.
So if you haven't heard yet, we're at home right now practicing everyday working on a new record. We're going to be recording it in October and November and it will be out in February. We set up a blog so that you can follow along with the entire process of making our record. From writting to recording to the release. You can hear about all the songs as we right them, what we're listening to or reading or watching that is inspiring each song and follow our progress. Go check it out and subscribe why don't you.

Wasn't this band involved in a fatal car accident not too long ago? I definitely could be wrong, because my memory blows worse than Paris Hilton, but I was thinking it was these guys.

Yes, their drummer, John "Beatz" Holohan I believe, was killed in a van accident several months back.

John was tragically killed in the accident last October, right before Halloween. Actually, on the same strip of road several bands have had accidents on.

But this news makes me very happy - I am a big fan of Bayside, and their self-titled album is a favorite. This makes my day.

I thought the self-titled and acoustic CD's they put out in the last year were both every bit as good as Sirens & Condolences - a sadly apt name for an album given what they would later go through.

Such a great set of guys certainly didn't deserve what happened last October ... I saw them live for the first time like a month before the accident and they all took time to talk to me and sign my CD's and stuff. Yeah, I can see this being the album of 2007.

I thought sirens and condolences was way better...the self-titled felt very verse/chorus/verse/chorus/bridge/chorus-y to me...sirens was way more interesting in its composition..though I do enjoy the self-titled
