Diet Dr. Pepper is such a better release than Diet Pepsi. While Diet Pepsi might have paved the way for other diet sodas, Diet Dr. Pepper took everything to a whole new level. Just because Diet Sunkist was released over the internet, with a gimmick of "naming your own price," that doesn't mean it is the greatest beverage of all time.

Well I thought you might have said that because you saw me post 'Gish' liek 12 times in the past week in the "What Are You Listening To?" thread.
Ahh yes, TFC. Underrated/overlooked album. Yea, it's mainly a Waters solo album, there's no Rick Wright =(, it's quite linear, not too much variety...but it's still a solid album. Waters is a great writer, consistently, so it's no different with this. You can hear the energy and emotion throughout, especially in songs like "The Gunner's Dream" (one of my top PF songs). The album overall has a unique feel to it, like the rest of their discog., and it all goes together nicely. Solid drum work, and guitar work. It just doesn't have as much of a longevity factor I suppose as some of their other albums. Like, it's still enjoyable everytime I hear it, but I don't play it often. So it does't get old necessarily, it's just one of the last things i'll pick from PF. I'd give it like a 6/10 at least.

I first got into it in Jan. '06 when I was in my scene phase, lol. I thought it was fantastic then, but the weight of it didn't hit me until like '07 when I noticed how I was listening to it with extreme enjoyment (as well as 'DSOTM' and 'WYWH', yet most of the other albums I listened to passed by and got replaced. I finally realized they were my favorite band, and after that my love grew and grew until the obsession that i'm in now, haha.
But anyway, yea it's so different sounding, from anything else i've ever heard...but even from the rest of PF's material.

Yeah it's truly something I'd consider a masterpiece. I don't just sit around listening to music anymore (I'm not 10 years old anymore), but I found myself just sitting on my bed listening to that album quite a bit. Along with Dark Side, Final Cut, and a while later Nick Drake (for some reason).

Secret night rendezvous? I don't think so, Tim.
I dunno... You and your love fests...
Yeah, well you probably have a metabolism that allows for that. To keep my sexy frame, I have to exercise some restraint.
In all honesty, I'd much rather drink normal pop than the diet alternatives. That stuff isn't good for you. There's all sorts of unhealthy crap in there. (I also dislike it because so many people act like it's alright to drink because it's "diet" and end up gaining more weight than they would from drinking regular pop, but really, that's the fault of the person more so than the actual beverage.) People who can't handle simply drinking their soda in moderation are probably better off not drinking it at all.

Yes, diet pop contains a larger concentration of sodium (which can, among other things, raise blood pressure and cause hypertension) along with aspartame (proven to cause cancer in lab rats) and other sugar substitutes.
I'm drinking it solely for vanity reasons. It's all I drink really. I abhor water. Truly. I cannot stand the taste. I don't want to derive calories from my beverages, so I can consume more of it from food, so I drink nothing but diet pop. It's certainly not healthy, but I don't care.
Then again, even drinking regular pop in moderation increases the chance of diabetes exponentially. One 8 ounce can of pop has more refined (see: unnatural carbs) sugar than two king-sized candybars.

Everything on that list is pop music.

For some reason I'm kind of surprised that you hate water so much. I kind of pinned you down as a "healthy lifestyle" kind of guy. Huh. Even beyond health reasons, I've always hated the taste of diet pop because it has the flavor of watered down pop, but to each his own.
I used to drink a lot of pop, at my peak drinking multiple cans of Mountain Dew a week, but I started feeling disgusting for it and have cut down on it considerably, now almost always getting a water when I go out to eat. I'll still indulge in some Mountain Dew or pop from a glass bottle (which tastes so much better than any other pop), but I'd like to eventually give it up completely.

I eat relatively well, and I do a lot of cardio to maintain a slim, lithe body, but as far as my health is concerned, I only care about it as it pertains to vanity/appearance. It's shallow, I know. Also, I like diet pop because it tastes even sweeter than regular pop due to the overwhelming sweetness of the artificial sugar.
but I'd like to eventually give it up completely.
Good luck, Tim.
