in an interview this week in philly, he was asked about the AI situation, and was quoted 'I'd love to have Allen on the Lakers. I want him. Everyone says there wouldn't be enough basketballs between us but I don't believe that. It would be teriffic'

interesting is what comes to mind here.

heres a box score with them on the same team:

Bryant: 55 pts, 7 rebs, 0 ast
Iverson: 54 pts, 4 rebs, 1 ast
Odom: 2 pts, 11 rebs, 10 ast
Brown: 0 pts, 12 rebs, 5 ast
mihm: 4 pts, 9 rebs, 4 ast

Iverson and/or Kobe would actually have to record an assist during a game? Do they know how to get an assist? Do they know how to pass at all?

Iverson is completely capable of passing...every Olympic game he dished nonstop. In Philly it's impossible for him to be unselfish because there's not a capable scorer on that team to pass to. If Iverson had a legit scorer that he respected, guarantee he'd dish it off in more creative ways than you can imagine. The quesiton is...does he like/respect Kobe enough to do that?

I dont know how it would work with them. I think they could still lose with AI

haha I would buy an Iverson lakers jersey. In NBA Action 98 I'd always have both of them on the same team.

This isn't a real suggestion. He's just saying he'd love to play with him. Almost all NBA players would love to play with their fellow great players, it's just respecting your peers.

This is pretty funny. Who do the Lakers have to give up?

mihm wouldn't touch the ball enough to get four assists.

Actually if you ever watched a Laker game and weren't just a hater making jokes, yes Kobe takes a lot of shots, but in the triangle, he doesn't have the ball in his hand a lot. He works off the ball. Odom is the initiator. Having someone else who is actually capable of scoring would make both Kobe and Iverson immensely better.

i think they'd work fine together. iverson can be a good point guard. he scores so much because he has to. same with kobe. both of their shot attempts would go down, obviously. not just because they're sharing, but because they wouldn't have to force as many as they do now. they'd each have a damn fine second option.

but you gotta figure, if it were to happen, chances are odom wouldn't be a laker anymore.
