The following was submitted to us by a user of the website. Don't take anything as truth until you hear an official announcement from all bands involved:"I talked with As Cities Burn (http://www.ascitiesburn.com) guitarist Colin Kimble at Cornerstone about the future of the band after they broke up. After their last tour, members of As Cities Burn (http://www.ascitiesburn.com) will join new bands. Guitarist Colin Kimble will be joining the band Oh, Sleeper (http://www.myspace.com/ohsleeper) and guitarist/singer Cody Bonnette will be joining The Receiving End of Sirens (http://www.absolutepunk.net/thereceivingendofsirens)."

they're one of the most overrated bands out there right now.

im sure ill be getting the hatorade poured on me for that one, but everyone has their opinion.
i say they're overrated in the sense of coming from louisiana. as much as it's good there are bands just as good and i think a lot of people will be seeing a lot of future bands coming from new orleans and surrounding areas).

meh, theyre really hardworking and talented guys. i dont think theyre necessarily overrated, its just every scenester in nola goes apeshit for them. they definatley do not have any draw in new england, which is an absolute shame. and the planning fallacy and infinite hours are the best bands, and some of the hardest working bands, in the nola area if not louisiana.

Well behind Ryan Adams and Dallas Green of Alexisonfire and City And Colour, Cody Bonnette is my favorite musician. That's overlooking an enormous amount of artists, but I have seen As Cities Burn live like 3 or 4 times and every single time I have seen him live, he just completely astounds me far beyond anyone else I have seen live. It should be interesting to see how TREOS uses him. I've always been somewhat a fan of TREOS, I have their CD and everything, but only a few songs on their debut stood out to me. The last track "Epilogue" was surprisingly a favorite, I guess because of its uniqueness.

true, they are. but that's just my opinion. i mean, look at this way. and maybe this isn't the best way to put it but ill go for it anyway. i think sidekicks are extremely overrated, however, ive had my sidekick2 since the week it came out in 2005 and i also plan on getting the sidekick3 tomorrow because they're great to have in the (music) business where you may need to be contacted at any point and time during the day simply because you CAN be contacted during any point and time via AIM or Tmail. with as cities burn, i think it's just the "apeshit" these kids go over them that may be overrated with me. hopefully, you'll understand where im coming from, hah. and, i do agree with the planning fallacy and infinite hours.

Ummm TREOS isnt a new band, but give them a try becasue they are really good. But ACB will be missed, because they were a very solid band, and Son I Loved You... was a very very good album. Bloodsucker Pt. 2 was my fav song, but thats just me ahha.

hmm. i first saw them in CT with emery and only a few people knew them and my friend saw them in poughkeepsie and he said the draw was small too. Ive only seen them once up here so i very well could be off

As Cities Burn will definitely be missed. They're great guys and they put out an outstanding record with such passionate lyrics. I have been lucky enough to see them many times over the past few years. People should definitely catch them on their final tour. They're playing the entire album as well as a few interludes and a Jimmy Eat World cover.

please define "people like you" .. people like me who actually have a sidekick for a reason instead of using it because they think its "the cool thing to have" or people like me who have actually accomplished much more then your average 19 year old and it just so happens that a sidekick is great to have when it comes to easily being contacted by people who may need or want to contact me at any point during the day?

i am curious as well!! they didn't play it at cornerstone. they did play through their entire cd i do believe. i loved the alternative ending to "Of Want and Misery (The Nothing That Kills)". that is pure passion for music. As Cities Burn says goodbye....
Posted on June 10th, 2006 by admin

we know there are rumors floating around about the future of as cities burn, so we wanted to clear things up.

tj is getting married this fall, and has decided to settle down, and begin life off of the road with his wife. he encouraged us to replace him, and continue with someone new in his place, but we have all decided that this band would not be the same without him. as cities burn was built on the personalities, work, and ideals of the five of us, and simply replacing a member would leave a void that would be impossible to fill. so we, as a band, have decided to end as cities burn.

as cities burn, the fans, and the times that we’ve all had over the past 4 years have been the most incredible experiences of our lives. we have cherished every moment, playing night after night in small towns, to small crowds, to the massive shows we’ve been able to share with you all over the past year. we are humbled by the love and friendships that we’ve been so blessed to share with each of you, and owe everything this band has become to the people that have believed in what we do. we hope that some of the ideas upon which this band was based will live on, that each of you will be encouraged, and know that you are loved. what an amazing time we’ve had, we owe the greatest times of our lives to each of you. thank you all for everything.

we’re so thankful that this summer we’ll have a chance to come to many of the cities that we’ve played over the past 4 years, and say goodbye to the friends we’ve made along the way. we hope that you’ll come out, sing along and hangout one last time. we love you all more than you know, and we’ll see you soon.

love,
tj, cody, colin, aaron, and pascal.

no actually i mean people who are not intelligent and make rediculous correlations between things that make absolutely no sense. ie you to a t.

Your New Aesthetic.

It's funny because Colin said that "Clarity" is their favorite album but when they play that song, very few people in the audience know it.

It was a good show. Kind of poor turnout though. But still decent considering that it was moved kind of last minute and the fact that they had never played in Lawrence before. They usually come to Wichita instead.

it made absolute sense. as cities burn are overrated like sidekicks are overrated. everybody talks about them and think they are the greatest things.

and another thing, a lot of the ones shipped out on the 28th had a shitload of bugs in them since they were part of the "test" batch. knowing that, i didnt want to take a chance of getting a defected sidekick3 and since i dont have 430$ on a credit card to max out i decided to wait until the 10th. it's the same phone, just people who think theyre "elite" by getting them a week before everyone else :)

first you say the phones were a 'test batch' which is untrue but i wont go there. then you finish the paragraph saying that they are the same phones that will be onsale to the general public. for real you are my favorite person ever.
