I wasn't exactly sure when the new Motion City Soundtrack album was to be released, but when I found out just now that it was set to be released today I find it a bit odd that I saw a few copies on the shelf at my local Target about a week and a half ago. Anybody else see any copies anywhere?

I saw it at wal-mart but a clean version and I saw it at target as well, went to the register to buy it but they told me "Oh sorry we can't let you buy this it isn't supposed to be out till the 19th"

Hmm, it was also weird that I found it in the soundtrack section. If I knew it hadn't been released yet I would have tried to buy a copy.

Yeah I have that problem here, everytime I go to look for them they always end up in the Soundtrack section. It's abit stupid but then I suppose to a random guy unpacking boxes he's gonna think that.

Saw some copies at Walmart but it was edited, so I opted out for now.

happens from time to time. i work at target. in most cases, new releases get a location spot a couple days in advance, and when they come in, the early morning old folks put them out anyways when they are still street-dated. however, our POS software will not let any stuff not released to be sold. it happens with video games from time to time more than anything i notice.

that is unfortunate
why?

why?

1) No Physical Disc/Album Art
2) Much lower sound quality
3)The artists get screwed by itunes/apple.

your better off buying the album from the bands merch store where they get to keep the majority of the price. itunes takes somewhere in the ballpark of 70% of sales from certain artists.
Hell your better off downloading the cd illegally and buying a shirt and wearing it around as advertising. just my opinion.

I buy physical copies and then transport them using itunes sometimes. I always make sure I have a C.D. for my car. The sound quality sounds good to me and i'm really not concerned about the artwork. Also, i've bought enough band merch to last me a lifetime. Not to mention all I talk about is music day in and day out.

I bought my copy off Mark Hoppus outside his tour bus on the second to last Blink date this summer. $5 cash plus a pack of cigarettes

The disc is very snazzy looking along with the booklet. I am also going to buy the vinyl from the webstore

Itunes gave my pre-order to me hours before it was supposed to. I don't know if that really makes a difference, but I thought I would just share that. If I think the album is worth it, I'll go buy the vinyl or a physical copy, depending on how much I like it.
