I said I was going to do this awhile back, but I forgot. A few of us were discussing the LOST Underground Art Series and had said there was some interest in an art appreciation thread, so here it is. Talk about anything from Art Prints to classical art work that you enjoy. Hope this one works out, because it is a topic I love.
Anselm Kiefer - Sternenfall (Falling Stars)
My favorite piece of art. Seeing it in person is astounding because it's like 10' wide, and probably over 15' tall. Truly breathtaking. Very talented artist.

I really like that. I can only imagine what it looks like in person.

I really like pieces that involve the sky. For instance, this is the art print I want most right now.

I saw High As The Moon when it came out and thought about buying it. I check omgposters.com semi-regularly. I also check ebay regularly for these two:

If your roommate ever thinks of selling his, I would pay him a fair amount for it.

Daniel Danger, who coincidentally did a piece for the LOST series, portrays night time skies so incredibly well. I think you'd dig it.

I'm dead serious when I tell you guys that every time I check ebay, I search for the same art print which sold out over a year ago and I missed. Today, I found it and didn't hesitate to buy it:

I'm in love with this. There were only 50 made. Now I just need to find that damn Dan McCarthy I'm looking for too.
Edit: hahaha, I just saw my post above where I said I'd never find it. One down, one to go.

Wow that's amazing. I remember the first time I saw her work at the high museum in Atlanta and was immediately a fan.
'Dragon' I believe was the work.

Which ones do you have? By the way, I'm still on the hunt for Don Stepped Outside. I'm a little scared now because the highest it's gone for on ebay, according to expresso beans, is $1000 which is ridiculous.

I just paid for a membership to Dan McCarthy's print club because the bonus print this year is a second edition Don Stepped Outside. Wow, I'm so excited to have one. And I think I'll just sell the monthly prints I don't want and make back my money.

Same here. I was able to buy into it at the absolute last minute. Really glad I did. 'Elder Days' and 'Cold Moon' are pretty incredible.

That's two in a row I definitely want to keep! If it wasn't so expensive to frame this stuff, I'd keep them all.

I've always been fascinated by art, but I've never really known where to go to find it nor have I really been able to afford the stuff I really like.
That being said, Dali is probably my favorite artist of all time. His paintings fascinate me.

True. I'm gonna get a big glass frame for 'don stepped outside 2' and plastic frames for 'Elder Days' and maybe 'Cold Moon' though I really loved that one. Hopefully his next print will be glow in the dark as all of those type of prints have been amazing. I'm really glad I spent all of the movie on it because it's a great investment and I would otherwise put it off enough to never get it or not have the money at that particular point. Now it works the other way around.

I am blown away by this month's print. And you got your wish with glow in the dark! I can't sell any of the prints from the club this year, I love them all, but this one is definitely my favorite so far.

You know, there are some I like more than others, but I could really keep all of them, they are all quality prints. 'The Call of the wild' I loved the more I got a better look at it. And the new print is absolutely great. Glad to see that it's glow in the dark too. Our prints can't get here soon enough.

A lot of people on expressobeans recommend americanframe.com. I've only ordered from there once, price was decent and assembly was easy.

I lurk the forums sometimes but haven't made an account. I don't think I will, I'm not art savvy enough to join, haha. The users there know what they're talking about.
