Backup For Nash On The Way
Jul 10 - The East Valley Tribune reports the Phoenix Suns are on the verge of making a deal for a veteran point guard. According to the newspaper, the team will use the remaining $3.6 million of the trade exception picked up in the Joe Johnson deal last summer.

Caleb, I don't think that's possible. The Wolves don't have Marcus's bird rights so they can't do a S&T, and they aren't going to use their MLE to acquire a trade exception... that makes no sense.

Barbosa is the back-up guard...

Are they planning on using their MLE on Banks and proceeding to trade him in a S&T? I've never heard of something like that, but by God I'll be fucking pissed if that happens and the Lakers aren't in on that. Have you heard any Lakers action on that? Mitch keeps saying over and over a PG is coming this week, and everyone assumes it's Shammond Williams (youve gotta be fucking kidding me)... but I would flip a bitch if it's actually Marcus Banks. It would piss me off beyond belief because of the Irony of who the Lakers needed to stop the Suns goes to the Suns.

ive heard alot about banks going to the lakers too...
but heard today that the suns wanted him as well, and i wonder if it's because the lakers are wanting him, and they'll do what it takes to get him? youre guess is as good as mine...but i'd like to see him go to LA much more than phoenix.

I personally think there isn't a chance the Wolves use their MLE to S&T him because it makes no sense for them unless they're getting a guy back that they really like. Banks wanted to be in LA and the Lakers wanted him (obvious interest after having to give him back in a deal after acquiring him), but his agent wanted near the full MLE.

Its resourceful coming directly from an interview with Kupchak.

Yeah there's a small chance of it happening considering: reports of Shammond Williams VERY close to signing, MLE used, Banks wanting full MLE, and I think even a couple quotes saying "we're not getting marcus banks." haha

I said it wasn't possible for the Suns to trade for him. It's easy for them to use their MLE on him.
Anyways, I fucking hate the Suns with a passion.

I just hope the suns find a way to resign diaw and barbosa in the future, even if that means parting ways with the matrix

Without a doubt Diaw and Barbosa will be resigned. Diaw is a gonna be a fucking star and Barbosa is going to be solid in his own right. Robert Sarver can definetly build a team around them for a long time to come.

Banks, in the right system, like Phoenix or LA, could thrive. What he lacks in PG skills, he makes up for in great lateral quickness and ability to defend quick PGs.
Great pickup for the Suns, he improves their defense a lot. They don't need much help on offense.
Good freaking God the Suns are going to absolutely dominate next year. That team is unbeliavably stacked. Of course it could depend on how Amare plays. I've heard quotes from a bunch of doctors saying he'll never be the same again.

okay, i know youve never watched banks, so ill let it slide....
banks cant play defense, and can only marginally use his speed, because he generally outruns his own ability to dribble, which creates a fuck load of turnovers.
not to mention, his attitude sucks and he doesnt like to listen to his coachs.
