I mean given they're different types of tablets but still its just color changes. When you're a band that big you go to look to see if something is done before.

Or maybe everything that can be done in music is done and i'm way off.

Not everything that can be done has been done, but you have to broaden your sights to find new things.

I do hope this is referring to Alkaline Trio and not GUTG.

Is anyone original anyone? Of course, you're just looking in the wrong places.

I should look where then? I listen to any and everything except country. I think I look just about everywhere I need to.

Whenever people make vague and broad statements like this I have a hard time believing them.

You don't have to, but you name it i've at least heard of it. I'd post a list of my itunes artist if I knew how/if it made you feel better.

Oh my God, both bands used a heart! One of them must have copied! A lot of bands write about love and relationships, I bet they all copied off of each other too.

So you're well versed in folk, jazz, Afropop, reggae, swing, bluegrass, ska, soul, krautrock, funk, IDM, hip hop, classical, dubstep, blues, neo-classical, post-rock, ambient, etc. both old and new? This seems unlikely.

I'm sure the guys in A3 were sitting around one day contemplating new album art, when they saw that other one and thought "Hey! We could just change it a little bit and no one would notice!". Good call, bro!

I'm not even sure what the fuck dubstep, neo-classical, and krautrock are, and bluegrass goes hand in hand with me not liking country, but yes to the others.

Then your points are pretty much invalidated, no?

Uh no? Because I am unaware of weirdly named subgenres and have already stated i'm not a fan of country? Actually, nevermind. You're right. I give up.

Well, all I'm trying to say is, what briewer initially said is probably true. You might not be looking in the right places. And IWasACamera further proved the point because you said you listened to "everything", which is highly improbable in the first place, yet you didn't know of a bunch of the types of music he mentioned. If you provided further evidence to back up you claims and gave concrete examples, then people probably wouldn't be hounding on you. But just posting 2 similar album covers and asking if any music is original anymore does not really help you at all.

People can "hound" all they want. Everyone feels like a supreme being behind a computer screen.

And i'm sorry, but I didn't know 3 of those genre's not a whole bunch. All 3 of which, if I were to mention them to people who's musical opinions would honestly matter to me i'm sure wouldn't know of either. Really.

I do listen to a very wide variety of music. though I don't feel the need to defend my own opinion of my musical taste on AP anymore.

What would you like for concrete examples?

The fact that one of my favorite festivals i've ever been to was for MGMT?
Or that Kanye's graduation cd was one of few i've actually bought over the last few years?
I also have old wonderful Frank Sinatra records in my closet from my grandfather.
In a few weeks i'm seeing Four Year Strong and Title Fight in NYC with other bands.
And I also downloaded the new acacia strain songs that just leaked.

Its just an album cover... the art is still cool even if it looks like something else. Don't look into it so much.. I'm sure alkaline trio aren't so conceited as to deliberately copy from GUTG.
We're Down Til We're Underground is fucking great though.
