For those of you worried about not being able to find The Format (www.theformat.com)'s new album, Dog Problems, in stores tomorrow, fret not! Every single Best Buy in the country will have many, many, many copies. The price might vary from store to store, but should be around $10. The CD is being featured on the new artist rack and if anyone there tries to tell you they don't have it in stock, make them go look for it in the back, because they definitely have it.

if anyone ever tells you know ask to speak to a manager immediately, because it's against their company protocol to say, they're just being lazy and the second you ask for a manager, they'll do it.

Exactly, I know the store (Marlboro, MA)i work at has atleast 10 copies last time i checked, and it's going for around 10 bucks...TEN and The Format for 10 bucks each? deeeeeeefintely grab them both.

Yeah, one time I asked a guy if they had a CD (I think it might have been Moneen...) and he said, "Yup, it's in the back."
And then he went back to doing whatever he was doing, and I was too shy to ask him to go get it (I know, I'm pitiful), so I just walked away.

Even though I've had this downloaded for months, I'll most definitely try and pick it up tomorrow.

It sucks that this whole year has been dead CD release wise then July 11th comes around and some of the best albums of the year all are being released on the same day:

Thom Yorke
The Early November
The Format
Sufjan Stevens
Muse

...too much at once...

and that i understand. order it off the internet. if i were a best buy employee i would be pissed if someone asked me to go search through a million boxes for their little cd. i am all for buying the format cd, but i can completely understand someone not being thrilled about going to get it. yes, "it is their job" but so is picking up horse poop, making hamburgers and cleaning toilets. would you be thrilled about any of these?

I'm listening to this album right now....I'm pretty dissapointed actualy
except "Pick Me Up" is an amazing song, it's the only song that has stuck to it's simple nature from the acoustic version but done well full band, the others have become way too complicated/ filled with unnecessary noise.

same goes with TEN's new album, pretty dissapointing (theres a few good songs, but lyricly too simple, almost "cheesy" and a lot of The Mechanic is filler)

maybe I won't be buying as many CD's as I thought

dude, pick me up is one of the weakest on there. i guarantee you'll feel differently after a few more listens. don't give up on it.

yeah...it's probably the only song that bothers me by relying on it's chorus more than the others. The weakest, maybe not, but it's not one of the top songs on there.

i applaud your movie taste, now go trade in all those useless saves the day and nfg albums and use those 6, 7 dollars towards more vince vaughan dvds

and stone sour has probably accomplished more in their short career then both of those horrible emo bands combined, and thats just corey's side project

so dont ever compare metal bands who made it into the mainstream, while still maintaining their overall sound, to your mascara-running bullshit you fucken fool. theres a reason why sound the alarm cant even break 50,000 copies sold, because theres only 45,000 stupid kids in the US who buy into that shit

I hope to god the STD bashing and Stone Sour pimping is sarcasm. Right now im tired and I don't feel like reading between the lines.

Best Buy employees suck. They need to hire more people that are passionate about music and aren't just there to get a paycheck and play video games all day while they work. I remember making a guy go get the "Days Away" album and he made it seem like the task would literally kill him. It didn't and he hasn't asked me if I "needed help finding anything" since then.

07/11/06, 08:10 AM
Yeah, Best Buy's customer service is awful. They're even worse at putting out video games when they're supposed to...I ALWAYS have to ask them to check in the back, and they act like I'M a jerk for wanting to buy something that they advertised a week ago in their sale paper...

Definitely not universal pricing. The Best Buy I was just at Gresham OR (Store 1058)1148 Nw Norman Ave
Gresham, Oregon had it priced for $13.99. I even told them to look at absolutepunk.net, they saw this post and were like "sorry, whoever wrote that obviously got the wrong info on Dog Problems' actual price." For Best Buy 14 bucks is a little outragious for a release week cd price, I'm sorry. Added to the fact was that I showed up at 1:30pm and they didn't have ANY of the new releases out on the shelves...I'm starting to think Best Buy only hires lazy fucks with GEDs.

yeah. Westwood best buy $13.99. I even asked them to double check it b/c that seemed pretty ridiculous for release week cd. Between this and them not having Set Your Goals, what should have been a very satisfying trip to best buy turned into somewhat of a disappointment.

Until reading this I didn't even realize I paid 13.99 for it. I had to go check my reciept in the trash can. Shows how much I gave a shit what this gem cost...I would have gladly paid double and not blinked an eye.

I got out of there under 40 bucks today with The Format, Muse, and TEN.

Target had TEN for $13.99 without the bonus DVD.
