I've been in quite a situation since late August. Someone broke into my car and stole my 3 cd cases which included every cd I own worth listening to, somewhere around $6,000 worth. I'm not here complaining, but I haven't bought a cd since then b/c when I restart my collection I wanna start it off right and preferably with a cd I didn't own before. So I'm just looking for suggestions on any cd's out there that if this happened to anyone of you guys/girls, you'd start your collection over with. Thanks.

The Cambiata - Into the Night
The Doors - S/T
Alkaline Trio - Goddamnit

In that particular order.

The only cds i have ever bought hard copies of are some of my very favorites

fun. - Aim and Ignite
The Matches - Decomposer
Motion City Soundtrack - Commit this to Memory
The Killers - Sawdust
Gallows - Orchestra of Wolves

I like the Commit this to Memory deluxe version because it has the live dvd. I would really like to start a vinyl collection though.

Dude that sucks big time. Here are some good starters:

Radiohead - Ok Computer
Foo Fighters - In Your Honor
Coldplay - Parachutes
Lovedrug - Pretend You're Alive
Jack's Mannequin - Everything In Transit
Anberlin - Cities
Colour Revolt - Plunder, Beg, and Curse
Days Away - Mapping An Invisible World

This should be enough to at least start rebuilding your collection

So do I. I was looking at newburycomics.com, smartpunk, interpunk, and ebay last night for a few hours looking at vinyl. I saw some good ones. I was also looking at frames for the vinyl so you can hang them up on your wall.

You know what would be really helpful in finding new music? A music site that constantly reviews varying genres of music. It would be especially useful if it was the end of a year (or even better, a decade!) so that there were a load of "The Best Albums/Bands this year/decade" lists from people who write about music for a living.
