i have been writing tons of shit on my telecaster and effects and shit, then a guy approaches me at guitar center the other day and was like do you play bass? and that was what i first picked up so i said yea, so he told me to check out his band (Sunset Lily - www.myspace.com/sunsetlilymusic (http://www.myspace.com/sunsetlilymusic) ) and that they needed a bassist, so i agreed..sadly i had only a squire pbass (my bass of six years) i had 600 bucks i had saved up so i bought an Epiphone Thunderbird IV Reverse and i love it (for 400 bucks, a used case for 50 bucks, a thing of picks for 6 bucks, and a new strap for 6 bucks...oh and ernie ball super slinky bass strings for 20..)yea, i love it soo much, sounds so great


i reccomend it to anyone wanting to rock out Rufio-Saves The Day-Taking Back Sunday-Thursday style...

also, i am trying to find a good halfstack combo...i found one on musiciansfriend, a gallien krueger brat pack half stack...does anyone know if these are any good?

I think you should look into used Ampeg gear. You can probably find it cheaper than you'd expect. Also, read Bass_Amps' "Behringer" thread... there were a lot of good suggestions in there.

I got a used ampeg 6x10 cab for really cheap. Best buy of my life.

Ampeg makes the best cabs and heads for basses.

I also have a smaller Yorkville combo for in my condo, its cheaper, but sounds really good.

from a personal opinion, ampeg is definitely the way to go.

Yeah, those 6x10 cabs are great. My roommate has an 8x10 that he bought for like under $500 (including shipping)
