The Michael Franti/ Spearhead song on this album is hot shit. The Music director for the radio station i work for dropped this album on all of us the other day at our music meeting and I've been spinning that album non stop for the past week in my car.

Yellfire! Seriously if anybody is a fan of a really conscious political reggae/hip hop should really check out this album. Michael went to Iraq and spent a considerable amount of time touring over there and filming the things he saw. He's releasing a documentary about his trip to the middle east in conjunction with this as well.

For a movie like Snakes on Plane, one would figure that the producers would find someone to make a dope theme song. "Scene" bands shouldn't have anything to do with the soundtrack, especially because it's Samuel L. Jackson. It looks like the soundtrack to a new Lindsay Lohan movie.

Lil Jon could have made a hilarious title track. Except I guarantee this film is super low budget...and only after it caught on did the studio throw money into advertising and special effects. If you note, Samuel L is this movie's cast (Kenan isn't even in the first listed part, he's just slightly more than an obligatory extra time wise it seems). That means all their money went to him doing it, and so things like soundtracks have to go cheap. Since it's already huge to kids within this scene, adding their usual music makes sense, especially since it cost them almost nothing to make that soundtrack probably, I mean, small label, still relatively unkown bands (Panic! and JM are still unknown really, even though they have radio play), it's not possible for it to be expensive

In fact, the two largest band names (FOB and P!ATD by MTV exposure currently) are either on or own the label, so that makes it even cheaper.
