Because the man that runs it all has a special/personal connection to them. They're a great band but yes, they are commonly overrated.

Overrated? I don't think so. They get a lot of respect, but they earned it with Deja Entendu. That album is nearly flawless.

honestly, I don't even like Your Favorite Weapon that much. I've been able to get into it, but only because of Deja Entendu.

I disagree. They can never be overrated in my book. Those guys have got me through some rough times, ill even go so far as to say they changed my life. Ill never see them as overrated.
I do see where you're coming from, though. If I wasn't a huge fan, all the hype about them on here would probably annoy me. eh

thats the main reason i have grown tired of them....dont get me wrong they are a good band with good song writing but they are held up on a pedistool on this site and it really irks me.

Yeah, I agree that Brand New are sometimes overrated around here but they really do deserve the praise at times.
