for some reason in the deep South (think Louisiana and maybe some other states down there) they allow drive-thru daiquiri shops. it's the weirdest thing to see them. apparently drinking and driving just makes more sense in Louisiana.

Or less people dying than there would be if they were just drinking at a bar. Think about it, at a bar, they would have a chance to have more than one beer, at a drive through, you usually only order one beverage.

happens in europe. not a crazy idea. i agree with what the article was saying about the kids though, shouldnt really be having beer at a place that does target it self to a younger demographic (xbox games?).

out of all of the fast food places though, burger king would be the one to pull it off.

They don't open the beer when they give it to you. We have drive thru liquor stores here. That's how they do it. If someone opens it in the car, then they're breaking the law, not the establishment.

it's not, it's just with a drive-thru you don't even get out of your car so i connected the two.
now that you mention it though it's not really that different, especially if people are supposed to leave it sealed.

I can understand it, like if it's cold or raining and you dont want to park and get out of your car and all of that crap but because of how we treat drunk driving, it seems so weird that this would even exist...even though it's the same as running into a liquor store and getting a 40 oz and throwing it in the back seat.

i guess you could say the more places that sell alcohol, the more chances someone has to drunk drive though. i don't know.

it's very weird. i also wonder how they deal with fakes and stuff since you're in a car with probably shitty lighting but whatever. i don't want to make it seem like it's common but they do exist. of course, we have bars that will give you alcoholic slushies in the same kind of styrofoam cup as a regular gas station drink so we're pretty weird in general.

"You don't take kids to a bar."

When you have a children's area, where they play, and a huge children demographic that goes to BK and is marketed to... I agree, I don't think it's sensible to have people drinking there, especially when you have crazy alcoholics coming in craving a burger and a beer.

edit: They aren't serving beer at regular Burger Kings. Had to re-read to get it right. In this case, I personally don't see it appealing too much.

this isnt a bad idea at all..... the one guy who talks about "not wanting to bring kids to bars"...it's true, but this wont be a bar or anything...it's just that some people prefer to wash down food with beer. TONS of guys do it everyday at dinner. Im sure there will be strict limits to how many beers one can order and the same "responsibility" factor is in effect.

The Whopper Bar concept is similar to rival chain McDonald’s McCafe coffee bars, except that it will serve Burger King’s burger items instead of coffee. Burger King’s Whopper Bars will be built in venues with limited amounts of space, including casinos and airports. Construction should start on the first location by the end of the year.

Yeah. That sounds totally like the burger king down the street from your house in your local supermarket shopping center. Limited Space? Psh, you can have drive thrus in airports and casinos. I mean, there's drive thru wedding chappels in vegas already!

Do you really think I did more research than the article posted? Do you really think I care enough to look further into this move by BK? Regardless, this isn't about how its setup. I was mainly arguing that you had no right to tell them to get 'reading comprehension skills.' Based ON THE FIRST ARTICLE POSTED there was no way in knowing how the whopper bar (and future bars) would be set up. You could have posted these articles and told them nicely that's not how it's going to be setup for the other people instead of being a dick and telling them to get 'reading comprehension skills' when they read the article just fine. If you had to get outside sources to show me how the whopper bar was setup, then obviously the first article didn't do a good enough job so just shut up holy shit.

Good point. I always forget that basically all of my girl friends are vegetarian, so it's really funny when we eat out and then I suggest something with meat it in. They stare at me funny for a couple of seconds and then I'm like, "ohhhh." Meat is good.

Caribou...? You mean venison?
She lives in Alaska, Caribou are like squirrels there

The ladies who always made it for me called it caribou when I was little and thats just what I grew up calling it. It might have been a cultural thing because that's what most of their village called it though.

I went to alaska once when I was a kid, and I got so fucking sick of seeing caribou everywhere. And bald eagles.

A squirrel came in through the window at my mom's rehab and stole the peanut butter half of my pbj...her rehab is out in the wilderness kind of.

 Just doing my job.

I could get the coordinates near where the treatment center on google earth if you want? It's kind of in between Kincaid Park and Point Woronzof (closer to woronzof) it's pretty much the wilderness, there's no street lights, and full of animals (which is nice), because I know the squirrel thing sounds like a lie.

So did the squirrel take like the one slice of the bread that had the peanut butter on it? Or in Alaska do they have a jelly half and a peanut butter half for the sandwiches?

If you want a beer, doesn't that defeat the purpose of "fast" food?
