Look at something funny like the C-WAF one or cool like TFOT one. Something should pop into your head.

Kind of a weird thread but I like it. I'd like to see hardcore bands cover some pop punk songs or the other way around. I think that would be a lot of fun.

i loathe covering songs.... especially covering classic songs..

i dont know about the rest of you, but when i heard (or saw on my msn list) that someone was listening to a cover of under pressure by my chemical romance and the used... i was furious...

there are just some songs you don't cover.. and thats just one of them... how can u take the majesty that is david bowie meshed with the excitement of queen and cover it?.. still to this day i refuse to listen to it

i also refuse to listen to all those "punk goes 80s" and "punk goes 90s" compilations! those just make me the most angry!

i don't see how bands can feel good about making money off of a song that was already released before some of them were even born... for example: alien ant farm's smooth criminal, and no doubt's it's my life.. when that song came out i made sure that everyone around me knew it was a cover of a delicious 80s song by talk talk....

and yesterday i was watching a commerical.. dont remember what it was for.. but they covered big country's in a big country and i almost lost it... there are just some songs you DON'T cover...

covering is only good in these situations:
1. when you are playing in a tiny bar on an open mike night (or u were hired to play in the bar.. whatever)
2. switcheroo series

those are the only ones i condone... covering is for fools...
