no. myspace was more than just tom. he's like the PR rep, there are programmers also behind the scenes. more now than before, considering it went conglomo, but it's always been a multi-man operation. one man couldn't build it AND be everyone's friend, too.

i think tom had to sell myspace. the amount of traffic on the site is unbelievable so he probably needed to sell in order to use news corps. virtually unlimited bankroll to buy more and better servers, and also hire more people to fix the daily problems of running a site with so much volume. that is what happened to friendster and why they lost so many customers. it grew faster then expected and their servers couldnt handle the traffic, thus people got fed up with it and left.
