A poem about someone who tried to commit suicide....

While she cried, a soft whisper occured
Do not quit living, before you've begun your life
You're priceless to me, in so many ways
So please stop, look, you will see

She looked down in the water
And there a vision of herself as a young child stood
Dressed in ripped up tattered clothing
In a cold, dark room crying from hunger
Because she got locked up by her own damn mother

Now the water changed and a new image stood
As an old man and woman in a store buying
Cans and cans of dog food from the clerk
The clerk asks, lots of dogs huh
And they reply no, they're for us

Yet again the reflection changed
And she saw a young person walking
Through the halls of congress writing
Fighting for all thats good in life

Again she heard the whisper for a final time
Telling her to look well at the young person
Saying that could be her one day,
It's what you'll grow up to do
If you don't choose to cut your life so short

Remember you're not alone in this world
And you can either choose the easy way
Helping no one, not even yourself
Or take the hard way, and help many
Because anyone can be weak, so choose to be strong
Make a difference in this world my dear
