Below is a fan report from the Jack's Mannequin (http://www.absolutepunk.net/jacksmannequin) show last night in Cleveland, 7-11-06:
At tonight's Jack's Mannequin show in Cleveland, at the House of Blues, Andrew McMahon's sister was in the audience and treated with a rare, solo playing of "Katie" - the song that Andrew wrote for her during the height of his sickness, crediting her for saving his life. The encore also included acoustics of "21 and Invincible", "Me and the Moon", and a solid cover of Tom Petty's "American Girl."
Overall a great show, great to see Andrew doing so well, but the finale was incredible.

One month till I see him in Albany, I met him when they played here at the Pepsi arena, he was in a rush to catch a plane so we didnt get to chat for long. I had a really awesome convo with Brian (SoCo Drummer) it was like 3 days before North came out. Nice guys.

Does any one know about any other b-sides off of in transit, I have Last Straw, Lonely for her, and Lights and Buzz. I thought there was more but i'm not sure.
To think I could have been there but I had to cram for a calc exam :(

Still have yet to see him; someday I'll get my chance!
This is why I believe in that bootleg system that some bands do--you can download a full show in MP3 (and in FLAC, too, for you geeks)--is fucking amazing.
I want to hear Katie, an acoustic MATM, and I'd want to hear the cover and 21 if I hadn't already.
I bet 90% of the crowd expected American Girl to turn out to be Dance, Dance based on the intro :)

So JM does play SoCo songs too sometimes? I'm seeing them in October and I want to know if I have any hopes at all of hearing Punk rock princess or If U C jordan.

I've been to two JM headlining shows. The first one I went to, Andrew did a slowed down version of 21 and Invincible. In Milwaukee the other night, he did Cavanaugh Park solo and then he and Bobby performed Me and the Moon together.

I was there as well! It was a great show with incredible fans singing along to every song. The majority of the fans were chanting for "Konstantine" during the encore, but I was satisfied with "Me and the Moon" and "21 and Invincible" No one mentioned it here, but they also played "Meet Me At My Window" off of the Superman Returns album as well during the encore. I really would love to have a fully recorded "Katie"... It's a great song and you could see the emotion from Andrew as he looked up to his sister, who was sitting in the balcony. It was definately a concert I will never forget! I'll have a few pictures up soon that I may just post in here I guess if anyone's interested.

I was there last night too. AMAZING show. Made my night that he did Me and the Moon, but to hear Katie was fabulous cause he's never performed it at a show before.
