We will be posting another ABSOLUTExclusive song from the upcoming Gatsby's American Dream (http://www.absolutepunk.net/gatsbysamericandream) record next Wednesday the 19th (remind me (http://www.absolutepunk.net/calendar.php?do=addreminder&e=964)), entitled "My Name is Ozymandias." For now, don't forget that "We Can Remember It For You, Wholesale" is currently streaming on the band's AP profile (http://www.absolutepunk.net/gatsbysamericandream).

the song up now is absolutely amazing. Will that one be going away? This has been such a good summer for music. I still need to get the new Murder by Death though.

Anyways, Gatsby's is amazing.

OZYMANDIAS of EGYPT
I met a traveller from an antique land
Who said:—Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert. Near them on the sand,
Half sunk, a shatter'd visage lies, whose frown
And wrinkled lip and sneer of cold command
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamp'd on these lifeless things,
The hand that mock'd them and the heart that fed.
And on the pedestal these words appear:
"My name is Ozymandias, king of kings:
Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair!"
Nothing beside remains: round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare,
The lone and level sands stretch far away.

~Ozymandias is the name of a vagrant in the books and the TV show based on the books The Tripods. In the first book, The White Mountains, Ozymandias says, "I am the king of this land. My wife was the queen of a rainy country, but I left her weeping. My name is Ozymandias. Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair." Will, who Ozymandias is talking to, remembers reading the name Ozymandias in a poem.

Garrett, I know you are obviously biased with GAD, haha, but what is your honest opinion of their new album as compared to their older material?

Can Garett even answer that after only hearing the album once or twice? That kind of thing takes weeks/months to comprehend.

Yeah I really couldn't tell you yet. My initial thought though was that the new record ousted Volcano, but that could easily be attributed to the fact that it was just brand new to my ears. I think they did a wonderful job of mixing sounds though, and simultaneously creating something new. Hopefully I'll have the ability to answer in another week or so. :)

Yeah, I mean I've heard the record 3 times and I'm nowhere close to being able to judge something like that, not from my favorite band.

Hahah, no apologies necessary. I don't want to go near that. conflict of interest

Plus it would probably read something like- Scott: I love this record Garett: Yeah, definitely. Scott: Gosh, we're such fanboys. Garett: Hahah, I know right?

I love this band and I love the idea of giving us exclusive peaks at the album, I am just afraid that I will have spun those songs out so much by the time the album comes it will put a damper on it as a whole for me, so I am considering not streaming the next song. :(
