I use FL Studio 7 for my beats. Reason has better and has higher quality samples though.

If you know how to work FL studio I'm sure you'll be fine though.

Reason is the shit. that's what i use for everything.

It's great. The possibilities are endless with reason. Plus you can synch it to Logic or Garageband!

Reason is by the best program for making beats, but it's a really big program for doing something as simple as rap beats. If you want something smaller and cheaper, I'd suggest FL Studio, which is also a lot more stragiht forward in terms of usage.
