why are women so bad at sports.

i hate her. she can't even win a fucking girls event and she's trying to set a record. when she finally does make a cut it'll be an embarassment. at least if anna did it, it would be respectable.

I've been basically the only one on here that's supported her trying to make mens cuts.
But seriously, if he can't make the cut in this even with only 2 top 100 men's players in the entire field, then she needs to stop.

She's a fucking asshole. I hate her. She thinks she can join all the Men's leagues. Does that mean Tiger can show up in the LPGA Tour and just fuck up all the women? This is what I hate. She's nothing but a gimmick, I hate her.

she's not breaking any rules in playing in PGA events.
but she does need to stop after this event if she doesn't make the cut at this shitty tournament.

I know she's not breaking rules, but she's so annoying..nobody gives a shit what she does. That's what the women's PGA tour is for.

were you against annika sorenstam playing in a men's event? I just don't see what the big deal is. yeah, it's getting old seeing her play 2 days and miss the cut time and time again, but it doesn't bother me enough to have such a hatred for a 16 year old girl.

I'm not sexist or anything, but they have women's leagues for a reason. Wouldn't you be pissed if a WNBA player decided to join the NBA? Or a softball player decided to play in the MLB? Why should they be able to play in Mens and Women's leagues, when Men can't play in both leagues. Like I said, I'm not against women or sexist or anything..but it gets so annoying. It annoys me more than she's not even good enough. She's 16 and she should be trying to become a great player on the women's PGA tour, not trying to make cuts on the Men's tour.

This is also my line of thinking...and it irks me because she isn't good enough, yet, to even pretend to compete with the men. If Wie was good enough, I would be less bothered by it...but she is taking spots in the event that could go to random qualifiers instead, people who need it to make their career...and the spotlight goes to her instead of the 20 or so golfers that usually get that air time.
I mean, at least Danica Patrick won a poll, and led some laps in her events...she showed she is capable of being at the top, but just hasn't put it all together yet. Wie has only finished top 5 a handful of times, on the LPGA tour...that doesn't even make you a top player there.
This may end up being an article I write...but saying "she's 16, she'll get better" is not a valid arguing point. If she is too young to be good on the men's tour, then wait and get older and play well, create some legitimacy

if a girl was good enough to play in the MLB or NBA, then sure. if there's a 6'8" girl walking around that can throw it down, has good feet and a sweet hook shot, then let her play, i don't really care.
Will that happen? no, because those are more physical sports. I agree she should worry more about winning women's tournaments, but what happens if she dominates the LPGA like no one women ever for the next 10 years. if she's 26 and been dominant for a decade should she not be allowed to attempt to play on a tour filled with better players? If there was an all womens racing league should danica patrick be restricted to only that league?
If someone's good enough, then let them play. But she does need to focus more on learning to win, i agree with that.

she's 16 and has already played in something like 20 women's major tournaments (womens us open, womens british, etc etc) and has been in contention in virtually all of them as a 14, 15 and 16 year old. To say that that doesn't make her an upper tier player there is wrong, in my opinion.
And who is she taking the spotlight away from in the John Deere Classic? There's only 2 guys in the top 100 world rankings even at that event, so she's not taking the spotlight away from anyone that would normally get it because those people aren't there.

It's not so much a woman playing on the mens tour, it's the fact that she fuckin sucks and gets all this media attention for being a crappy golfer on a professional tour. If she was good enough - go ahead, but the media and everyone is giving her so much for nothing. She also thinks she deserves to be there, have you ever seen her being interviewed? "Uh..you know I struggled today but I can easily play better and win". Fuck her.

That's the bottom line. If she proves she can win in Men's events, I could care less..at least she's qualifiying. But right now she's sucking it up in both the PGA and LPGA tours, so why play in both?

i agree that she should prove she can win on the lpga tour.
but i can't blame her for what she's doing. ehs'e exposing herself to crazy media attention, which helps the pocket books. if she's given the chance, it'd be silly for her not to take it.
honestly though, i wish she'd tone it down a bit. seems like she plays in too many. and i wish annika would give a few more men's tourneys a shot.
bigmike said it best, she's a 16 year old girl. nothing to get upset over. there's worse shit most 16 year old girls do that annoy me way more than trying to earn assloads of money.

you'd have the same opinion of yourself if Nike came and gave you $10 million and told you you were the greatest golfer ever and you were only 16 years old.
I just think that even if she did succeed on the women's tour and came over to the men's alot of people would still discredit her and say she shouldn't be playing there. I hope one day after being on the LPGA and winning alot that she goes to PGA Tour Q School and get's her tour card and plays full time on the PGA tour.

Like a 16 year old girl making an assload of money for the only reason being her gender and age. she probably makes more money than half the guys who are beating her in the tournament.

it's not just because of her gender and her age, she happens to be damn good at golf for that age too. and yeah, she probably does make more money that the guys beating her, but we're here talking about michelle wie and not anthony alvarez or any other golfer in the tourney.
i think that says something. she brings attention anywhere she is. attention brings in the money. she's earned it.

Ty Tryon got a deal with Nike too, when he decided to turn pro. He was like 17 or 18 so this bullshit that it's just because she's 16 and a girl is ridiculous.
And, she's bringing alot of people out to that tournament that normally wouldn't show up to see the 181654 ranked person in the world tee off. She's bringing in money to the pga for certain events that normally wouldn't be there. Calm down, this isn't the nazis taking over the world, she's just a 16 year old girl who's an exceptional golfer for being just that - a harmless, 16 year old girl.

Well, considering she thinks she should be playing with the top 5 men in the world, yes. I think her constantly playing in the PGA is an insult to the players she can't beat in the LPGA.

You act like she's not even making cuts on the LPGA. she's really not even getting beat by other players, generally her putter is what lets her down, thus, really beating herself more than anything.

And playing in the PGA tour is giving her an excuse to lose. Instead of playing in the pressure situations in the LPGA and developing her short/putter game she is really only hindering her development and ability by playing against the men and not expecting to win, imo.

i know, i agree with that. I've said i think she should focus more on LPGA tournaments and really just learning how to develop the skill of closing tournaments out and learning how to win. But i don't have a problem with her playing in men's events, although, it is getting a little tired. Especially if she doesn't make the cut this week with as shitty as the field is.
