it's over Charlie.
I remember like a year ago when this was predicted by Exidol and Jason Tate swore up and down it would not happen and said he knew so much about this business and how this band was doing so great and how ExIdol was an idiot and knew nothing about the business.
Ex also said that Letter Kills would get dropped and then was told how he is stupid because Letter Kills was working on new material for Island and blah, blah...
In hindsight, that dude was pretty fucking smart.
hehehehehehe
I think Tate should apologize now and admit that he was wrong.

Space for Tate's excuse about why Ex was not right...and how acceptance did not REALLY get dropped.

It seemed weird that their last "studio" video was some random footage of them going to Bamboozle. I really wanted to hear a new record but that doesnt seem like its gonna happen.

Wait, hold on...what IS going on?
i tend not to talk about it because i was told to wait for real word of what is going on. other than that, why dont you take an educated guess :(

Oh I don't need to take an educated guess. It's just comes as a shock because I thought they were working on the new cd and everything was cool.

i know for a fact that they're done.
unless they miraculously changed their mind all of a sudden.
i know their drummer was pretty bummed out about it.
a couple of the guys are trying to settle down with their ladies and the bassist already left. they're done.

i've followed this band since the beginning.
this would suck really bad if the rumors were true.
the fact that no staff members have posted here makes me believe its true...

No joke, if these rumors are true, i'll be stunned. But, until I get official clarification, I won't believe a word of it. Just like the MCS/Silverstein rumor, even though this is a completely different situation, its still a rumor and nothing more than that.

It seems to make sense that if they lost their major label deal and now two of the guys are married and having to support families that things just wouldn't work out unless they signed to a BIG indie (such as T&N) who could give them as big of (or a bigger push) than they got from Columbia... The reality is though, it is hard to sign an indie deal without locking yourself in for 3-5 albums and a bunch of debt. They would have to have it on their terms, and with only the flop with Phantoms to show for themselves they don't have much to bargain with. It's a shame, Jason Vena is a tremendous talent.

i don't think you really know what you are talking about. phantoms was a flop and don't have much to bargain with? it was a flop for a major label but an indie would love to pick up a band that sold 100k. and the reality is they wouldn't have to lock into a 3-5 album deal on an indie they could get a 1 album deal if they wanted. and they would be in less debt if any if they were on an indie, the majors is where you get all the big debt. but i will agree jason has an amazing voice...

people: calm the fuck down until there is an announcement.
The most fucking ridiculous argument being made on here is "oh they are married and have to support their families now".... last I checked, most of the time WOMEN WORK TOO.

do you even know what "debt" means?
phantoms has been one of my favorite albums for quite some time. id be really dissappointed if i didnt get a chance to hear a new acceptance album.

That's the whole point, the fact that indie label bands can't afford to raise families unless they have an absolutely killer freekin deal that I've certainly never heard of... More importantly though, just because they COULD get a 1 album deal (which is very doubtful) does not mean they would ever want that type of financial and future insecurity just so they could scrape out a living being rock stars at the rate of serving at a fashionable downtown Seattle restaurant... Not to mention, once you've had Columbia front something like 100,000 for you to throw down massive high class studio time with the producer of your choice (which happens to be Sprinkle), it's hard to settle for that album every 13 months thing... Which is why I said that I think the only indie lable that may be suitable for Acceptance may be their hometown T&N, who does very nice polished albums... Except for the fact that they are close with MXPX who hate T&N so that probably won't happen. Either way, whatevers, arguing on the internet is pretty stupid. So touche, you made several good points.

true story, except i have heard that they would like to settle down, be with their families, etc. you certainly have a more than valid point. but i'm just saying.

Just for the record "supporting" a family means more than a paycheck... And you better believe there is now indie label paying for wives/kids to be on the road with a band...

This is kind of a dumb question, but can't TMG just take them back? Or is that contract done and over with and TMG would never consider it?

Jason vena's family is very wealthy.
Jason's fiencee's family is also extremly wealthy. Money is not their problem. this band is breaking up because they just are not feeling it anymore. I heard this in december from famly members of the band.

Also....just because a band is located in seattle and tooth and nail is in seattle....that doesn't mean the band makes more money then any other band located in different cities.....that makes no sense what so ever.
Ps. I love acceptance...I have been watching them since they opened for one point two (gatsbys american dream) at the old paradox in seattle.....but when it comes down to it they were hyped up to columbia to be the next big thing and next big things need to move much more then 100k....

Wasn't aware that MxPx hates Tooth. Didn't they just record like three new songs for them for the Let It Happen re-release? MxPx probaby shouldn't bite the hand that fed them if that is, in fact, the case.
