I remember I took the Dookie album liner to class in like 5th grade for a mobile and never got it back. I think about this occurrence probably once a month.

2000 Light Years away was amazing. I loved Kerplunk and Insomniac. Dookie was good, but just played out. Nimrod I never really got into. Warning was a refreshing change and then they became American Idiots :-(

I have to disagree.I love 1039 SOSH and Kerplunk but Dookie is a great cd.They just recorded their songs on a much higher budget but it's the same Green Day.They changed their sound on American Idiot and that's just because they grew up and they're more serious now.

i dunno, green day has been my favorite band since forever, and aside from the fact that they ripped their biggest single of the last decade off the dillinger four, i really don't see the big difference between then and now. i mean, they got older, they slow it down a little bit more, but their last two albums were still great, despite how many kids here would rather listen to valencia or some shit. since i'm here...

Seriously, though. Interesting that you listed those as the years for "old school" Green Day. I've always considered Nimrod to be the "bridge" between the "punk rock" Green Day of yore to the "rock n' roll" Green Day that exists today. It really feels like two separate bands.

Not necessarily a bad thing though.

Not to mention billie joe making up excuses as to why it's ok to support major labels and million dollar corporations (Much like that equally as terrible band pennywise).
