VILLANOVA, Pa. -- McDonald's All-American Scottie Reynolds will attend Villanova in the fall, the school announced Thursday.
The 6-foot-1 guard averaged 28.4 points, 4.5 assists and four steals as a senior at Herndon (Va.) High School. He was a three-time Associated Press first-team All-State selection and was the Class AAA Player of the Year as a senior.
"We are very fortunate to have a player of Scottie's caliber drop into our laps," Villanova coach Jay Wright said. "He can create his own shot, create shots for others and score."
Reynolds is the fifth player to join this year's recruiting class for the Wildcats.

what do the players look like in that class (how many 5,4,3 star guys)?
Because, Nova may get nastier yet if they have even better players coming in

antonio pena is 4 stars. he played in HS on the same team as sebastian telfair (he was in that through the fire thing in a few clips)
cassiem drummond, andrew ott, and reggie reading are all 3 stars. i believe kraidon woods is also signed, but not sure if he is coming (academics)
reynolds will see tons of PT and will even have a shot to start in the backcourt with nardi. pena will also see some good minutes, and reading will see a few. the others prob will ride the pine

do you go to Calhouns camp and got to watch the pick up game with all the new recruits? Youre thinking of Hasheem Thabeet, who is gonna be a beast this year. People are predicting that he could easily be a at least a top 10 pick by next years draft
"Hasheem surprised me," freshman forward Stanley Robinson said. "Oh, my God, he's so big, it's insane. On top of that, he's never been in a weight room, so I'm just waiting to see what that's going to be like. And, I thought my hands were big, but his hands are huge.
"But he has great footwork. You would think that a player at 7-3 wouldn't have good footwork, but his footwork is excellent. He gets up and down the court, he blocks shots on defense, and he's just a freak on offense. Get him the ball, it's pretty much a no-brainer."
Robinson is already thinking about possibilities.
"It's exciting having a guy like that on our team - pretty much like watching Shaq on TV, but I can see it in person for the first time. But at 7-3, he's taller than Shaq," Robinson said. "Plus, not that many people know about him yet. The match-up I would love to see is him versus (Ohio State freshman phoenom) Greg Oden --- I would love to see that. I'm quite sure Hasheem's going to be a crowd-pleaser."
Is it time for college bball yet?

Is it time for college bball yet? sadly no...but it hasn't stopped me from writing 3-4 articles on it...and looking through countless blogs for any updates.
I've decided I'm taping this season so I can relive it in the off monhts...take 2 days between games and the occasional week break...just like the season, so I can make it last from April to Novemeber

yeah, at like 9:30 at night we'd all just go into the seats to rest and all the incoming freshman and some players on last years team (Jeff Adrien) or former players (Taliek Brown) would play. It was really cool. Brown should be in the NBA, he absolutely owned every incoming guard.

“I think he’s the best player in Northern Virginia since I’ve been coaching, and that includes Hubert [Davis] and Grant [Hill]. He’s more dominant.”
thats a quote from one of the coaches that reynolds played against :)

yeah hes playing in like Hungary or something. he gave his jersey to like the athletic director, it was pretty sweet. and no, he doesnt have a shot at all, but he was just able to dribble through everyone and get layups

youd pass on mason too if you were an awesome guard and could play at Guard U.

lol guard university?
ITs fine he went to villanova..he'll get more exposure etc. If he bombs Mason would probably be a good fit if he wants to transfer.
I just dont like when local recruits go to a rival conference team (IE Star NJ recruits going to Notre Dame or BC in football)..that annoys me

If it wasn't for John Thompson, AI would have gone to jail. His mom and John Thompson really saved him. Whenever I think of AI, I think of the movie Above the Rim. The original Birdman.
