For the ones with the douchebag/asshole comments, leave it somewhere else.

So my friend wanted me to find info on Hollister jackets and I found out that an XL jacket has a 44 chest, and my friend's chest is 50. (He wants to wear Hollister jackets)

Do you think he can wear one? Will it be too small?

<*)))><

I wear a small. Also who really cares hollister is crap, pay more for A&F that stuff is so much warmer and better made.

Well, you see...it's for my friend, not me.

I'm finding out if an XL jacket would be too small for a 50 sized chest. That's all

I bought a hollister coat once. It seemed to me like they ran kind of big. I mean, I'm not that small of a person, pretty average, and even the small size was spacious.

If anything they run slim, the tight fit makes you look like you have more muscle.

well, I guess I'm just strictly speaking coats. I've never actually bought any of their other clothes.

All of their other stuff like t-shirts and polos are "muscle fit" or whatever so they run a little tighter. I guess the jackets are just normal sized

By far the best sweaters ever. I have 4 so far and they are comfiest things in the world and just fit perfectly. But $50-60 bucks a piece is a little meh. But its worth it. And I have a custom Clandestine one. After shipping and tax and getting the logo pressed, that bitch cost $100.

You can get them on ebay from individual sellers that sell 'em for about $30-40, and occassionally you can find one in one of the cool little 2nd hand storer around here that are like $10-$20. But, 2nd hand shopping isn't for everyone.

I work at Hollister and this isn't true. A&F and Hollister essentially sell the same clothes with different logos, it's not a jump in quality you're paying extra for, it's the brand.

To answer the original question, 44 =/= 50, and Hollister clothes tend to fit snug in the first place, so I'd say unless he tries it on in a store and it fits, skip it.

EDIT: A&F does sell some items that Hollister doesn't.

I believe they still sell Jake in store, but if not you can get it online here (http://www.hollisterco.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_10251_10201_389380_-1_18898_12551).

In terms of popularity, SoCal, which is the one we spray in the store, is probably still the most popular (and my favorite). California, which is the newest fragrance, also sells pretty well.

Don't know what to tell you. Like I said, I'm sure that some of their stuff is different, but I've seen literally the exact same button down shirt being sold at both stores. The only difference was the logo and about a 20% price increase at Abercrombie. The jeans come in the same styles. A lot of the clothes are very similar and are made from the same materials (albeit with minor differences for the logo type and the stitching on the inside of the neck).

I worked at A&F a few years back, and we'd work with Hollister at times, so I have a very good idea how theirs and Hollister's stuff fits. They tend to muscle cut their men's clothing. That's everything from t-shirts to even jackets. The chest and arms will be decent sized, but they cut it small in the stomach area to give it a more muscular look. This tends to throw all traditional sizing off as a XXL shirt can be the equivalent to a L somewhere else. Hollister seems to run even smaller than A&F as it's geared towards a younger crowd, so an XL at that store will not fit someone with that chest size. It really does make shopping confusing, I have older shirts from these stores that fit normally, but as they essentially run on their own sizing classification now, it's all different. To avoid yourself a return, I'd probably tell your friend to steer clear of buying it.

If I were him, I would strongly listen to him, but it's unfortunate that he won't listen.
