i disagree. krist novelselic was a pretty solid bassist. if you need evidence of grohl's ability on drums, just check out them crooked vultures, songs for the dead, or in utero. probably the best rock drummer of the last 25 years (other than danny carey from tool).

Nirvana because of Kurt Cobain's great songwriting, but Pearl Jam had/has the most musical talent and is still rocking today AND they have an extensive catalog that has a diverse group of songs, even ALBUMS covering different styles of grunge/hard rock that they practically created by themselves. I still choose Nirvana, but Pearl Jam is a close second behind.

I enjoy some of Pearl Jam's material, but, I voted Nirvana on this one. Dave Grohl is one of my biggest drumming influences and they were the first alternative band I ever listened to, being in grade-school and asking my older sister what the music was. I still enjoy it very much to this day.

I never quite got into Nirvana. Sure they have some great songs and I still haven't heard Bleach...but I greatly enjoy Pearl Jam and Vedder's voice. "Yellow Ledbetter" is the best "What-the-hell-are-you-singing" song.

I'd still rather listen to All Time Low, Paramore, A Day To Remember or Blink 182 over Pearl Jam.... infact the only band i'd prefer to listen to Pearl Jam over on that list is Bring Me The Horizon and Flyleaf.
