I believe the Used started recording their third album in February. I'm not sure how long the process usually takes, but I would imagine it coming out some time this fall...

Personally, I'm really looking forward to this. Their first album was what got me into the altnerative/punk/screamo/post-hardcore genre... "Buried Myself Alive" was a great song. Their second album was good, but didn't have the staying power their first one did. I hope that they blend the two together and come up with something so solid that I won't want to listen to anyone else for months and months. Seriously. The Used has potential as musicians and I see no reason why anyone will say their third album will be shit.

i thought in love and death was a real clever record. really combined their first disc with elements of pop like Queen, David Bowie, and the beach boys. i saw them once (nov 02) and they were insane.

First of all, Why the hell would Bert McCracken join P!@td?..that would be one of the worst mistakes ever. But yes they are coming out with a new album and I'm really excited about it. It's gonna kick ass like the last two.

I like the Used, but its like...sometimes, I'm all "OOOH, THE USED!!" then I'm all "eh, the used, who cares?" then I'm back to "OOOHH I LOVE THE USED" I go through phases. I used to do that with Taking Back Sunday all the time but now I'm pretty much always "OOH, TBS"

But anyways,I saw the used once at Taste of Chaos. That kicked ass. I was supposed to see them at a radio show a few years back, but I won backstage passes to meet good charlotte and I went to meet them while the used were on. yes, before I grew a brain I was like "OH EM GEEE I lYke ,HARRTTT GEE CEE!!"

Their self-title album was timeless. Not a weak track on it... MY favorite is "Buried Myself Alive". Great song. I thought In Love and Death was more pop than it should have been, but I understood the direction they took... It was more polished and more strange. They were trying to do their own thing. With their third album, I hope that they blend the two styles they have recorded in the past so they sound like a From First to Last with a Taking Back Sunday commercialism... They can make GREAT music and they don't have to sacrifice what they have already done.

They were on an interview I saw on the television for Warped Tour and they hinted they were trying to hop on the band wagon for the tour next year. New album first, right?

Dude, I really don't give a fuck at all, because "I'm A Fake" makes me want to bash my head into a wall, in a good way. Bert is one of the only screamers I really enjoy, and his last name is "McCracken" or some shit.



That said, the route they went with their sound on the second album was kind of ridiculous... It was really poppy, it sucks in comparison to their heavier/darker sound, and I'm hoping they realize it.

I think you're half right about the second album. Sure it was ridiculous for the Used following their first album, but they went for something different.... Because a lot of bands adopted that sound. I think, in that respect, the Used is great at adapting to what they want to sound like.

They've updated their MYspace... It's got a new pic up of Bert and the guitarist, a video of the guys in the studio, and they've changed their genre... Hopefully as a joke... To Rock/Crunk/Ghettotech.

There are some good songs on the first album. To be far I never relaly listened to ILAD because its boring. More songs like "Box Full Of Sharp Objects" is the answer we need.

wow, i could not agree with u more in every aspect. they were the band that introduced me to this genre, "buried myself alive" is the best song, the second cd is good but not as long lasting, great potential... u took the words right out of my mouth.

Woah, my friend[Whose obbssesd with the Used] said that Branden Steinekart, the drummer, just left the band because he just got married...So the Used said that first they have to look for a new drummer to continue the album and tour with..so im guessing it could be delayed. They said they may even be going there seperate ways afterwards [I think she found this on the official The Used Website]:(im really upset about this, i <3 Branden and i dont want the used to brake up...but who knows..i guess as long as thier happy and put out a v ery excellent last c.d.[well, hopefully not their last] they i guess im happy.
