So, I'm getting married in July, and we're spending a week in Paris for the honeymoon (family frequent flyer miles + priceline hotel = win). We both think it would be really cool to check out a concert or two while we're there. I mean, Phoenix is from there so they must have a halfway decent music scene. Have any of you guys ever been to/ know of any decent music venues in Paris?
A lot of the smallest ones have closed, but which kind of bands do you want to see?

Lol thanks for the heads up, but the music is definitely not the deciding factor for the trip. Just thought it would be a cool thing to do one night after a day of sightseeing.

Nothing specific really, nothing too heavy. Maybe some indie rock-type stuff or techno-ish rock (like I said we're both fans of Phoenix). Just something that would be fun without too much risk of getting kicked in the face mid-honeymoon. Not really sure what the strong points are of the scene over there, what would you suggest?

Le Batofar in paris is a venue on a boat...Couldnt find the venue for hours because i didnt exactly expect it to be floating, haha.
Cant get better than that. I saw misery signals, emmure, and august burns red there. The entire boat was shaking haha, most bad ass moshpit ive ever experienced.

Hum, I'm not from Paris so I only know the venues playing punk/hardcore/alternative rock bands but you should definitely try the Glazart (http://www.glazart.com), Les Disquaires (http://www.lesdisquaires.com), L'Espace B (http://www.myspace.com/espaceberbere) and Cithéa Nova (http://www.citheanova.com). Those are small venues, but more electro/indie.
