on another note: i read a story a couple of years ago where a man in france bought a suitcase with a jammed lock at a garage sale. When he finally unlocked the suitcase there was beatles unreleased recordings, orginal lyrics written on napkins by john, etc. There was a huge bidding war for these things and the guy sold them for fucking millions and millions of dollars. fuckin frenchman.

ok i found the article that i refered to earlier. i botched a couple of details with the locations but here is is.
Over four hours of lost beatles recordings have been stumbled upon by a British holidaymaker during a visit to an Australian flea market, the Times reports today. If the find turns out to be genuine it could be worth several hundered thousand pounds.
When Fraser Claughton came upon a battered suitcase at the Lara flea market (Melbourne) he picked it up out of curiosity, only to find there was something inside.
What he found were records, programmes and photographs......and a reel-to-reel tape marked `Abbey Road... not for release`. The canny holiday maker eventually paid just 50 Australian dollars for the whole collection `as it looked interesting`. It is believed the tapes contain alternatives of beatles classics including `We Can Work It Out` and `Cry Baby Cry`.
Only last month nearly $60,000 US was paid in New York for a 20 minute tape recording of a radio appearance by John Lennon. If genuine, the material found by Mr Claughton is likely to fetch many time that at auction.
There is evidence that the contents of the case might have once belonged to deceased Beatles roadie Mal Evans, who worked closely with the band, sang some backing vocals and appeared in the Beatles movie `Let it Be`. There are recording sheets bearing his name and he is understood to have visited Australia before his death in 1976 when he was mistakenly shot dead by Police in LA.
Mr Claughton has appointed a publisher to handle the sale of the find, which could fetch enough to pay for many more holidays in the sun.

it's kind of funny that two hundred people have something to say any time any snippet of fall out boy news is posted, yet no one really seems to notice when huge news about one of the most important bands of all time is posted. classic.

Not too surprising. There isn't enough potential for drama, unless some Ringo phone camera dick pictures start surfacing.

i think Paul owns the rights at the moment, which means that 1) the puplic will most likely get to hear some if not all of the tapes... and 2) wings is gonna go out on tour with new material that magically came from nowhere

I wish Paul or Ringo would have mentioned something like this in the past. Ya know, a little heads up:
"By the way, all you blokes and birds, somewhere out there, there are 150,000,000 unreleased tapes of Beatles music, so, if they're ever discovered, don't go shitting in your knickers."

Then there is people like you that make statements like that just to make themselves look cooler. I'm sure you listen to the beatles on a regular basis, and the discovery of new material has you hard right now. Give me a break.

Man, I love the Beatles. Many sentimental memories involving them as a little kid.
I just want to hear the argument portions of these tapes. I want to hear George just let out a "Fuck you, Paul" or hear Paul talk shit about Yoko. "She isn't even hot, John! WTF?"
And you know Paul says "double-u tee eff" too. He's Paul McCartney, dude! He probably invented it!

it would be a shame if we didn't get to hear them at all thanks to RCA/ whoever has the rights to them (they get passed around like a $10 whore) trying to sell them off to lil jon and p diddy throw some urban flair to them and hit MTV with an instant hit...
hey stranger things have happened ;)
