This morning the boys from Jack's Mannequin (http://www.jacksmannequin.com) flew into a secret Los Angeles location to shoot their new music video for the song "Dark Blue." The swinging 50's beach party-esque video has a big crew and an even bigger director behind the piece.

I think they tried to pick the catchiest, most radio-friendly single material song.. which they achieved with "Dark Blue."

Dark Blue is going to BLOW UP!!! ... The Mixtape was a very POOR choice for the first single... in fact ... it's the only song I don't like on Everything In Transit...

i don't understand all this love for 'dark blue'. it seems to be most fans' favorite song, and andrew's favorite as well, but it's probably the most skipped jm song on my ipod. bruised or i'm ready or la la lie would make better singles in my opinion.

also 'dark blue' doesn't seem like a beach song to me. i think mfeo and miss delaney have more of a beach vibe.

No, I was referring to Jerry Bruckheimer..

the music video producer is a very big name with big named bands' videos under his belt.

id like to see a JM video directed by marc webb, that guy does great work. but i think it sounds very much like it could be wayne isham , as he's done everyone from metallica to the backstreet boys. who knows.

I think you mean director. It doesn't really matter that much who's producing it, since the director writes the treatment and comes up with the ideas. Also, I'm guessing that they went with one of those boring "genre" directors like Webb, which means that it'll look really expensive and mostly be like every other alt-rock act out there.

This was my favorite song of 2005 and the highlight of an amazing cd

Yeah, it seems like a lot of people liked those. I'm not saying they were horrible, but I did think they were kinda cheesy and embarrassingly melodramatic.

jerry bruckheimer produces everything

but Marc Webb is an amazing director, all of his videos are insane

off of the jm fan site. Today Andrew flew back to California to prepare for the shooting of the Dark Blue music video, which is taking place TOMORROW. The video is being done by DNA (http://www.dnala.com/main.html) and according to Andrew, it has a James Dean swing dancing vibe, and also possible a dark vibe. According to him a while ago, it would have fake rain, not sure if that's still on but I'm hopeful! It's apparently a very expensive project, since The Mixed Tape videos did really well on FUSE and VH1.

of course their are gidget movies! 3! All of them classics i might add :)

I'm happy with this single , i know i've always found it to have one of the catciest choruses on the cd. I think Bruised will be the next single. Didn't he do a poll where people put their favorit jm song or something? I remember it being mix tape, dark blue, bruised then lalalie i think.

They're playing it on the radio up here, and they didn't dod that with "The Mixed Tape," so maybe this will do JM some justice and help them B L O W the eff up!

Because I think everyone should own Everything In Transit. It should be right next to the Bible in every hotel room.
