Hey guys! I live in Rome, GA and I put together house shows in my area. What I like to do is have 1 or 2 touring bands and a couple locals at each show. So far, I have had Native and La Dispute play. Robbers are playing in a couple weeks, and an acoustic artist named Koji is playing on St. Patrick's day. I am also in the process of booking a couple more shows in the next couple months. I have just recently started doing this, but I am fully aware of what it takes to put on a good show. I am 100% committed to this. I spend nearly every bit of my free time looking for bands to book, planning and booking shows, and promoting these shows.
I am dedicated to doing everything I can to breathe some life into my local scene, and I'm hoping that if people see that there is a chill, friendly space they can play, it will inspire people to start creating. But I also want people to be able to see honest musicians playing live. Most of the kids in my town can't make it down to Atlanta to catch bands coming through here, and probably wouldn't have found out about some of these artists otherwise. When Native played, I think maybe 5 percent of the people there had heard of them, but everyone was really into it at the end. We an open-minded, friendly group of people who are excited about music, but have no place to share that excitement. I'm trying to fix that.
Sorry about the rant.
My point is this: If any of you are going to be touring the southeast and would like to play a sweet-ass house show, feel free to contact me here or at nietovincent@gmail.com. I can guarantee gas money, a place to crash overnight, and plenty of food for everyone. I do all my own booking and promoting, and have some dedicated volunteers to help me out with some of the legwork. I'm assuming this is the correct place to post this. If I'm wrong, someone let me know, and I'll move it immediately.
