the Finnish band? I like them. particularly their early heavy metal works.

Yeah, I like their earlier works. Not so much fan of Dark Light, and Venus Doom was borderline. I have the new single, "Heartkiller" and if the rest of the album is like that song, I probably won't listen to them anymore. :/

the album has leaked but I haven't bothered getting it. the '95 demo is their best stuff. GLSV666 is also really good. the four first albums are really solid, tbh.

I agreed that their first early heavy metals are the great musics.

I think this bands ratio of t-shirts I see of them to albums they sell has to be somewhere at 10:1.

I agree. 99.1% of the people wearing their shirts think it's Bams. Bam totally fucked their shit up.

HIM was cool like 6 years ago. Razorblade Romance was a solid album and a few of their songs around that time (most featured in the cky dvds) were awesome. But dark light and on were complete trash. Once they got huge their music started to suck. And the idea of Love Metal gets real old after 6 albums of songs just about that.

He's the reason anyone knows who they are outside of finland.

He's the reason anyone knows who they are outside of finland.

And the reason they had to make more "poppy" albums to satisfy the fanbase in the United States. Razorblade Romance would have never gotten them as big as they are, but it was their best album.

You act like they used to be some deep, avant garde, post metal act.
They were always alt rock for mopey goths.

Yeah they have had a following for a number of years,Touring with children of bodom,Nightwish,Katatonia etc. That being said,It is basically The Cure on steroids.

more like Type O Negative with Neil Young, Neil Diamond and Johnny Cash lyrics with obscure references and more goth-like metaphors and stuff.

Screamworks is being put out as a deluxe this week with a full acoustic version of the record. That got me excited. Ville's voice alone is magnificent. Actually, I'm pretty anxious to hear that now that I've been thinking about it. Just downloaded the full band Screamworks, but still buying the double on Tuesday. Even though my dependence on Him has waned over the years, I do believe they exist somewhere in the spectrum between amazing and outstanding.

I'm not too keen on the way they put out one million different versions of each album to cash in. probably their label's fault, but I mean that's what you get from signing a major label contract, bitches.

Yeah, with heavy music, before Bam made them famous.
