the show is being advertised as a co-headliner, Thrice is definitely more popular than ManchOrch, but its going to be a big hometown show for both O'Brother and MO, thrice is probably just playing for the heck of it.

Edited with thoughts: Andy seemed really appreciative of the crowd. It was their first time headlining such a large venue in Orlando. It started out awkwardly empty and filled up nicely as the night went on.
Didn't really feel O'Brother. Their lead singer seemed like a cool dude though.
I felt bad for Chris Staples. He really has no place on this tour. It would be like going to Sports Authority and finding cooking pots and pans. He just didn't fit in at all. Not that he was bad or anything, but people talked over his whole acoustic set.
Features were great. Only knew one song going in, but everyone really seemed to like them. Pleasantly surprised.
Manchester was good as always. Didn't mention anything about the new drummer. Andy talked a lot and had some funny things to say.
Great night all in all.

19 songs? That's impressive. Not too familiar with Robot Banter and Black Man. Were they on the EP or something? Time for me to get familiarize with MO material before the show

Black Man is the old title for In My Teeth. Robot Banter was literally Andy and Chris talking about robots and how they're going to be our new masters and Chris making robot noises on his computer. Loved the show tonight and the new drummer was great, it wasn't the same guy they had playing for them in Colorado a few weeks ago which made me happy cuz that dude made some scary faces when he drummed.

Song about wearing your old mans shirt (New song?)
I'm pretty sure this was Badges and Badges. I thought he said 'old man's shirt', too, but when he started playing the song I realized it might have been 'own band's shirt'.
The second new song sounded really familiar to me, too, it bugged me that I couldn't remember the name. It could be new, though.
I enjoyed all of the opening bands and I LOVED The Features. I agree that Chris Staples seemed out of place, it was awkward for him to be so stripped down after O'Brother. Minus a few rude people, the crowd seemed rather calm in the first few rows. I don't know what I was expecting, but it surprised me.
This was the first time I've seen Manchester talk so much during their set, they were joking around after almost every other song. It was comforting to know that Andy knows he looks like Chewbacca. :-d
I can't wait for Sunday at the Revolution!

You're right. It was badges and badges. Corrected on the set list. Thanks.
I was surprised they played the "I remember that I wanted to kill you" song that they played a few tours ago. I have it on a bootleg, and it sounded a little different last night. I remember a lot of people wondered why that song didn't make METN.

Notes from last night
Crowd was awful, we got where have you been and colly strings! We got a second new song, (one point they said this is the first time we played this in front of anyone.)
Other than that, they were solid, just disapointed by the lack of respect people have sometime, hard to listen to sleeper 1972 when the people next to you won't shut the fuck up

I've got the red tee, with just the METN logo on the front and Manchester Orchestra along the bottom, it's pretty nice.
The only other thing I'm interested in that list is the artwork by the band, I would love it if someone could get a picture of it.

Manchester Orchestra were great tonight in San Diego. They played a good mix of old and new songs, that I can't exactly remember the order of. They started with Pride, Black Man, 100 Dollars and Wolves At Night. They played a new song and then Badges. They played most of the songs they usually do and then Colly Strings, I Can Feel A Hot One and 50 Cent.

I met all the guys in all the bands in Tempe. I got a ton of shit signed and talk to the Manchester guys for a good 20 minutes, and Andy came out and talked to me and my friend for an hour or so. It was awesome. Just me, Andy, and my friend, alone talking about tons of stuff, and he opened up about so much and told us tons of inside information (including something about a fucking AMAZING band possibly signing to FG). He treated us as equals. It was nice.
But I've met them all tons of times and sorta have an on going thing with a few of them.
Just hang out by the bus afterwards, and they'll always come out and talk.

O' Brother's setlist?
Sorry can't help you there since I actually missed the entire set of O' Brother. Probably biggest mistake of my life. I really enjoyed Biffy Clyro and especially The Features. Manchester is amazing as always; no need for explaination. The only complain is that there wasn't much interaction with the crowd. Andy tried to make some jokes but overall he did look tired. I saw him before going into the venue but was too much of a chicken to say hi. :-(

MO played an intense extended version of Where Have You Been? as the only song in their encore in KC last night.
Extended it to about 15+ minutes with two or three rock-out segments, kind of blew everyone away.
They do that anywhere else? Is that what "Where Have You Been, Bitch?" implies?

19 songs? That's impressive. Not too familiar with Robot Banter and Black Man. Were they on the EP or something? Time for me to get familiarize with MO material before the show
I know this is late, but "Robot Banter" was just them talking about robots and "Black Man" is "In My Teeth".

Where Have You Been? That's the Minneapolis setlist. Great show, wish people would shut the hell up when they're playing a song like Colly Strings. It is my favorite of theirs and two annoying chicks in the 3rd row were talking the whole time. Fun show overall though, despite the shorter set.

yeah this is what Detroit got also, but we also got this really slowed down version of "the only one" where the crowd did almost all the singing...actually the crowd sang through the entire set list, you got like 300 or so people singing "i can feel a hot one"...it was euphoric
and when they played "in my teeth"and "shake it out" the entire place went bonkers and made half the place into a mosh pit :)
FANTASTIC SHOW
wish i could do it all over again
o where have you been went for like 20 minutes :D

Pittsburgh Set List:
Pride
100 Dollars
Black Man
Shake It Out
Marcus
Wolves
April Fools
End of the World
Colly Strings
Everything to Nothing
The River
The Only One
Where Have you Been
Friends
Hot One
The Only One was mostly just Andy singing it with the crowd, then kicked in full band for the very end. Where Have You Been was like 15 minute jam with the dudes from O'Brother adding extra drumming, super intense and awesome. They didn't really stop between songs or talk to the crowd except before playing Hot One, where Andy just expressed how grateful he was for all of us being there. There was no break for an encore, said something like "it just rips us all off".
Overall it was an awesome show, except the venue recently like tripled their sound system and it was absurdly loud. I'm pretty much deaf today.

ROCHESTER NEW YORK -- WATER STREET MUSIC HALL
O'Brother is not a good band. they were very immature in sound, look, and performance. the only thing i can say i enjoyed about them was the overwhelming level of feedback they played with. i love that kinda noise. and the white jazzmaster the disgusting looking guitar player had.
Biffy Clyro....damn. i was expecting nothing while the guys were setting this band up. i thought it was going to be a joke. they blew me away. absolutely spectacular performance, will be getting into these guys in the future
The Features -- filthy. i didn't think an opener i had never heard of could get better than biffy clyro, but these guys had a sick style, great songs, and were a lot of fun. although the guitar player and bass player looked like the guys from the band in almost famous.
MANCHESTER ORCHESTRA
-pride
-100
-black man (with a bit about how he only wanted to marry some girl for the money. another song referance?)
-shake it out
-marcus
-wolves
-the second half of HOLLAND 1945
-april fools (this song is either a LOT longer than the youtube video i saw, or they played another right after, main hook being "walk on")
-end of the world
-colly strings
-everything/nothing
-the river
-the only one
-where have you been?
-friends
-hot one
i got the setlist and the lyrics to hot one, they were taped to the monitors because andy can't remember the lyrics. this show was filthy. i thought wehre have you been was going to be the closer and i was pissed at no "i can feel a hot one" but i spoke too soon.
some general notes
-there was a big joke when someone yelled something about jeremiah. the band joked about how jeremiah was dead and never coming back and that they were making the fill-in drummer feel like shit
-andy hit his head on jon's bass during the heavy part of colly strings and they preceed to rip on jon over how he used to kill baby kittens as a child
-colly strings was one of the best things ive ever seen.
-the only one was just robert, andy, and chris singing with some palm muted guitar part till the end, like written about above
-holland 1945 i think was due to my request. they played it last time and after i yelled it, he broke into the second half. cool.
-on my way out, who's riding a motorized scooter back to the tour bus? andy hull. stops chats with the fans, bums a cig, signs my setlist. dude's a straight smart ass and i love it. robert shows up, grab his signature too. were pretty cool guys. i asked robert to come to buffalo next time so i don't have to drive so far. he said he would if every time i die would come hang out with them. pretty funny.
-andy spoke of how rochester might be his favorite place to play cause of how many people showed up and how good the crowd was. cool.

I was wondering the same thing (b/c I don't have that much desire to see O'brother, but don't want to miss Biffy Clyro), so I called the venue:
7:30 O'Brother
8:20 Biffy Clyro
9:10 The Features
10:10 Manchester

If your referring to tonight's Philly show I agree with you. Lots of techincal problems and it seemed to lack a certain punch in my opinion. I seen the band 4 times in the last 3 years and I can say this was the weakest time I saw them. Plus, only 3 songs from "I'm Like A Virgin Losing A Child" surprised me.

The show in Charlotte yesterday was phenomenal. I went to Arctic Monkeys (my favorite band) the day before and Manchester just blew them out of the water. It was crazy. Every band on this tour is great. I don't remember the whole Manchester Orchestra set but I know they played everything from Everything to Nothing but Tony the Tiger, Colly Strings, two new songs (April Fool and Rejoice in the Name of the Lord), Where Have You Been, Wolves at Night, Now That You're Home, and maybe a few others? Oh and 50 Cent. They actually talked quite a lot, and they were really funny. Andy kept mentioning how much he looks like Zach Galakianakis.
I talked to Andy before the show, it's way old news but he said they'll be recording around June, and he told me that they're really good friends with Kings of Leon so Kings of Leon get them in a bunch of festivals and stuff which is sweet. Not much else, he was really nice.
I'm seeing this again on Friday, I cannot wait!
