I like Madden

He's not a bad announcer when it comes down to it.

I know a ton of people like to hate him, but my feeling is, what he lacks in crispness of delivery, he makes up for with football honesty. He'll call a guy out for playing shitty and he won't completely suck a players dick, things that every other announcing team does. From Joe Buck, to Theismann, to Aikman, and Moose and so on, football announcers are plain awful. Usually the only teams that are tolerable are the ones that get the worst games, and that's because they are usually not as polished.

With so many bad announcers, I have no problem with a guy who's so out there he's funny doing games, especially if he'll be honest even if it isn't totally what the network would want him to say. Harry Carrey was losing it to, but those last Cubs games were great to watch because of it.

last season i had the birds on Directv and Merrell doing the play by play from yahoo...but the delay was too frustrating so I eventually had to deal with the announcers.

yeah the delay does suck. I'm back home though. I am so excited. First time I'll be home for a full season in four years. A little over 45 hours until training camp begins.

i need the vets in camp to call it the real deal. i was going to try and make it up to Lehigh but my schedule doesn't fit. it's ok though cause i'll be in Canton for the 6th.

favre is on his short list, so good call. but favre if any deserves it. he's at least not a flavor of the month that's only getting it because of hype. i'm not saying he's perfect, i'm just saying he's still better than the alternatives.

well certain players like the eagles receivers still haven't realized this yet, so it's still valueable info.

I have no real problem watching a game in which he commentates. But I find it very amusing to make fun of his captain obvious remarks.

For me nothing will ever beat the Sunday Night Football crew, that is just me though.

Madden does bother me sometimes, but not as much as others do.

it is spot on. Frank Caliendo does so many great impressions though. I also love his impression of Jim Rome. "Phe-nomenal"
