How did they go about getting Garth Snow in there? I don't get it. Do they ask him if he'd rather ride the bench or manage the team? That's awkward.

word on the street is after he was hired he was butting heads with the rest of the front office as he didn't want to go the route that the rest of the FO wanted to go. So basically, he wanted to try something new since the islanders haven't contended in oh, 2 decades or so.

yeah. actually my theory on it is, Smith, being a successful GM that has won a cup and all, got kinda pissed that his decisions would have to be made in consultation with nolan lafontaine and trottier.

and because garth snow has no clue, that fourth dissenting voice is gone.

And i like Neil Smith. But i've gotta always show my love to former Western Michigan Broncos. Much in the same way i love John Saunders, Mike Eastwood, Keith Jones, Jammal Mayers, etc etc.

I'm just assuming that Nolan is running the show and Snow is just a placeholder. Nolan is crazy like that.
