How long before we become the most hated team in the NHL?

Beat the Flyers in the first round, Devs in the second, Pens in the finals, Hawks for the cup.

I think that'll do it.

A few years given the Caps can get a dynasty going and the Leafs and Habs ride into the sunset.

Beating the Hawks or the Sharks (Sharks Sharks) would probably do it. Then again, this is counting on San Jose to actually make it to the cup this year.

Honestly I had a hard time picking the West. I just know it won't be the Sharks.

Why would the Sharks (Sharks Sharks) make them hated throughout the league? Sort of not seeing the logic in that one.

I think they're good enough to do it this year. With how Marleau, Thornton and Heatley are playing, they should be able to make it to at least the conference finals. If they choke again this year, then I wont pick them in any future years.

True but not to the rabid extent of other fanbases. They are the casual love-team of all the Eastern (and some Western) fans.

Never count out the Wings, unless we're talking about them facing the greatest team ever.

And the Caps are full of Russians who play fancy Dan hockey. All those teams have loud and vocal (I'd say large but that's not really the case for the Devils - they're a special exemption to the metrics) fanbases, which help create intense rivalries and people taking sides. We already see this in the case of Pittsburgh, as an old Patrick Division rivalry has been re-ignited with Crosby Malkin Staal (sounds like a law firm) v. Ovechkin.

That Caps/Pens game was one of the best games I've ever seen.
I went to a ton of playoff games last year, including the Game 7 heartbreaker, and it'll be tough for anything to top my personal live experience of when they beat the Rangers in Game 7. After Federov's goal to take the lead with a few minutes left, the whole arena was screaming and going nuts. It spilled out into the streets and people were honking their horns to C-A-P-S CAPS! CAPS! CAPS! while pedestrians shouted along. I get chills just thinking about it.
