See, this is why I love them. They make amazing songs and name them after quotes from Watchmen, Lost and all kinds of other things. They're nerds like me, except they can make fucking amazing music. I love them.

Unless they are actually referring to the poem, and in that case that's cool too.

I want this album now, can I get this album now? I think I pretty much have to go to the CD release now on the 19th, even though it'd be 11 days old by then.

i think so too, mainly because i feel that "ribbons" was a little darker feeling, although it wasn't, it just gave me that vibe.

That is one of thier best Qualities. I'm sure they got this one from the latest x-men comics.

My Name is Ozymandias is referenced in the book The White Mountains, a book about gigantic tripods who rule the world. Look at the cover of the album. Bam.

I cannot believe you're stealing archive.org's bandwidth to "stream" this. You guys seriously might as well just post the link to download the song, or look into a more "secure" media player.

On that note, this song is great. Thanks!

I realize that you can trace the stream, but you could also just as easily use and sound recorder and still get the song. Oh well

I'm sure its from the poem, but watchmen counts too--both are great works of art.

And I dunno if J.D. Salinger is alive or dead, i'm pretty sure he's alive, but IF he was dead, he'd be rolling over in his grave right now because in "Raise High The Roof Beam Carpenters and Seymour an Introduction" he says that he would bet that not a single kid in his class could quote a line from Shelly's Ozymandias.

Funny thing is, i was at a bar the other night (and i absolutely fell in love with Volcano last summer) and I was talking with a friend about what I want to do when i grow up, and i actually got into this whole train of thought where it was like "I wanna be Ozymandias...king of kings, bitches--riding around on a bicycle and spinning the earth on my own...not a rich, glorified king...just the true king...some normal guy who just happens to have all the answers and keeps this place going."

So, long story short, I love Gatsby's American Dream because we're on the same wavelength.

He is alive indeed. And I just thought I'd make that comment since I just finished those stories about a month ago and was excited to hear it mentioned in an absolute punk thread haha.

That was the point. You're saying GAD is just noise? I named the worst band I could think of. THAT'S noise.

so where'd you hear them?

it's not a matter of where, but who.
the owner of the recording studio i work at is friends with the drummer.
i'd share it, but yousendit, sendspace, and all those other sites are blocked on our computers at work so that no one can do what someone did with the Underoath demos that got out.

EDIT: that's the story i was given anyway. if it's true or not, i don't know. all i know is that there are 6 songs on the iTunes on our work computer, 3 of which have been put on the internet, and the other 3 say they're form the new album.
