As you guys have probably noticed, it's getting to that really dark, cold time of the year. The last week or so I've been spinning Sherwood's new album like every day trying to get out of this depressing mood. Got any recommendations for other good beach-y pop albums

I guess different people associate different records with sun/summer...but I always find Homegrown's 'Kings Of Pop' album gets me in the summer mood

Fight Fair is the best example of beach pop I can think of.
Anything by New Found Glory has a summer vibe too.

Rooney's first CD is usually in my stereo once summer starts to come around.
I also really love Dashboard Confessional's - "Warmth of the Sand". I came across that one when I was making a summer mix CD a couple years ago.

To be perfectly honest, despite it being trashed on around these parts, any of these neon pop bands are really good for this. A lot of uplifting melodies and many of the songs are really catchy. Bands like Mercy Mercedes, The Summer Set, Sparks The Rescue, The Scenic, Every Avenue, Dropout Year, and Teamwork are all good bets.
