HitsDailyDouble (http://www.hitsdailydouble.com) is predicting that The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus (http://www.absolutepunk.net/theredjumpsuitapparatus) will sell around 20-25k copies of their debut album Don't You Fake It in its first week.

I don't know, I bought this CD (because I buy any CD that I have a slight interest in), and there's some good songs. I really like In Fate's Hands

needs MORE screaming...but of course..they will never be "mainstream" if there is a lot of screaming....it wont appeal to the mtv viewers and the trl people would prolly say "like OMG this band has way to much screaming...like they need to stop that and then we'll play their video"

I was expected more only because I saw a group of kids at warped talking about how much the loved TRJA and how they were sooo excited for the CD.

I live in jacksonville and have seen these guys from thier first years whe nit was the odl band members before they got a ew bass player a new guitarist and new drummer so dont fucing tell me what to think about this band and dare call me a god damn hypcrit. Yeah, way to sound like an asshole. My whole problem with them is that they're no different than 90% of the bands that are on MTV. It's nothing about their work ethic, most of those bands have at least a pretty good work ethic to get that far. It's about all of the shit sounding the same.
Bringing the format into it is purely ignorant, because you have no argument (PS, dont overgeneralize with the word "you", because I've been listening to them since I+L in 03). They're not even in the same genre, most people world give the format credit, even if they didnt like them, because they're swimming upstream to do what they want with their music, regardless of this shitty pop punk bandwagon that so many bands seem apt to jump on.

good music and telented musicans. They seem to no longer exist anymore. RJA is not talented just another chapter of the emo/screamo/post hardcore/ folk that been in the scene for more then a decade. Music needs a positive change not the same grunge poop thats been going on.

So far I like this band and they must have put a tremendous amount of work to put this together. I will do one better than most of you and at least respect them. Not every band that "jumps on the bandwagon" can sound this good. They may not be too unique, but they are catchy as hell. I seriously doubt they set out to change the sound of music.

Well, it definetly happens, especially on this site, but this is just a bad thread for it. I personally dont hate if they become sucessful, just the crowd they attract. This is pop culture now, so there in fact is a bandwagon to jump on. While some little kids see this stuff, and look into it to find more meaningful music behind the scenes, many stick with their panics and the whatnot. and i dont know, it has a few great tracks (the single being one of them) but it doesnt stick with me like the last one. maybe i need to listen more. the acoustic version of "the diary of jane" is gold, however.

i got this cd for my birthday and i think its pretty catchy, and a fun cd....and im sure thats exactly what RJA was aiming for. theres no need to bash a band for liking/making the same kind of music thats popular nowadays

I havent listened to much of them, but Face Down is one of the best songs i've heard this year. I'll probably be buying this CD. I think the thing that turns off "scenesters" to them is their look...which is the only thing that is overly unoriginal about them. The lead singer has that whole The Audition, CIWWAF lead singer look...two bands who havent gained much popularity on these boards.
