We seem to have a pretty similar taste in music. Definitely check out Portugal. The Man if you haven't. I think you'd love them. Since you're into The Fall of Troy get Hot Cross - Risk Revival. Pretty similar guitar structure. Get all of Anthony Green's projects, specifically High and Driving and Audience of One. Also Manchester Orchestra, Genghis Tron, City and Colour and The Receiving End of Sirens are all bands you should check out.

Anymore? I really dig great lyrics like kevin devine, brand new to a lesser extent, northstar.
Or any good heavy stuff. Please don't promote some local, friend, ur own band that has horrible recordings that I don't want to listen to that is unoriginal. Burden of a day, skylight drive, receiving end of sirens, glass jaw are good in my book.

Check out The Dispensed www.myspace.com/thedispensed . They are in the same vein as Saves The Day with girtty vocals. Might be a bit too pop punk for you though.
