lol I love Vegas Vacation. Mostly for nostalgic value though, it's a pretty cheesy movie.

YES. Vacation is the great one, European is the bad one, Christmas is the heartwarming one, Vegas is the cheesy one. And Christmas Vacation 2 is the "Not One" one.

Oh my God! Wayne Newton! Do you need a bodyguard? I'd die for you.

I'm gonna call it... Miley Cyrus and Taylor Lautner as Audrey and Rusty.... whereas Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo could be their grandparents.

no way. they've never cast anyone more than moderately famous in the audrey and rusty roles.

Vacation - True classic comedy. Anything Harold Ramis did in the eighties was golden
European Vacation - No Cousin Eddie, no care
Christmas Vacation - What more do I really need to say about this? IMO it's one of the funniest films ever
Vegas Vacation - I love Vegas, it has a lot of great one-liners and the Mr. Papageorgio side-story gets me every time. Although not my favorite, it's still one I've always loved

Like I've said before, I'm all about a new Vacation film, have been for years

Eddie, has anyone ever told you you're bad luck?

Those were my mother's dying words. But I guess if your body's covered in third degree burns, and your foot's caught in a bear trap, you tend to start talkin' crazy.

I also like Vegas Vacation, it's underrated. In retrospect though, although very dated, the first one is the best.

I think the story for this one is that Rusty is a grown-up father now, and he is taking his family on their first vacation. I don't know where Chevy comes in to play...maybe he tags along to "show rusty the ropes" (which would be hilarious)

When I heard the new one was going to be like Planes Trains & Automobiles I was sold instantly, taking my two favorite comedies of the eighties and combining them...I'm on board

Really? I thought that one was the worst by far. .. The first Vacation and Christmas Vacation are my favorites. Fingers Crossed Chevy Beveryl D'angelo and Randy Quaid are all in it.

You make a valid point, I hope they'll include at least a Cousin Eddie cameo, but with Randy Quaid's recent troubles, I wonder if New Line will even bother?

I do, and I've always heard good things about this series, I just never sat down and watched them for some reason. Should I just start at the beginning and work my way through?

The New Line film will no longer have the National Lampoon name and is being described as an update flick and not a sequel.
That's the only part that really made me go "hmm." Other than that, I'm interested.

Yeah, you can pretty much watch them in whatever order you want because they're all made several years apart, and most of them have different actors playing the kids. The only ones that really stay constant in the series are chevy chase, bevery d'angelo and randy quaid. However, I would at least START with the first movie, just called Vacation. It sets up the characters and stories and it is probably the funniest one.

Rusty and Audrey have been replaced in every one....but yes, he should definitely watch the first one first otherwise he'll never get the Marty Moose gag
