View Full Version : Bush escaped the curse

I just found this on the internet and thought it was very interesting. Every 20 years, there has been a death in office or assasination attempt:
1840: William Henry Harrison - Died in Office
1860: Abraham Lincoln - Assassinated
1880: James Garfield - Assassinated
1900: William McKinley - Assassinated
1920: Warren G. Harding - Died in Office
1940: Franklin D. Roosevelt - Died in Office
1960: John F. Kennedy - Assassinated
1980: Ronald Reagen - Assassination Attempted
2000: George W. Bush - No Assassination Attempt/Death
I thought that was very interesting.

and Alot of presidents had assasination attempts on them
it even says in wikipedia that George w Bush even did
in 2005 some dude in Georgia (the country not the state) threw a grenade at him but it didnt go off

Well, not really because he wasnt ever elected. So technically he didnt escape any curse. The only person to escape this curse is Al Gore, since he was elected in 2000.

that's fine that you're in denial and just upset that bush technically did win the election by our current standards.
and then, again.
it's been beaten into the ground. Do i like him? No. was i upset that he won the election in 2000 and then was re-elected after being a shitty president? Yes. but to bring up him "not winning" is retarded, ridiculous, and plain not funny. He did. by our current standards and ways to determine who wins the presidency, he won. get over it.

Just because he won by our "standards" does not mean he won legitimately. There is plenty of information to suggest otherwise for 2000, and even in 2004. The latest election is almost more fishy to me. So believe what you want.

Let’s not forget it swung both ways. There were many irregularities in the Gore votes of 00' and the Kerry votes of 04'. Criminal activity was also rampant on the democratic side in 04'. So don't humor yourself with this onesided bullshit, no election in a nation of 300,000,000 people is going to be perfect. But that doesn't mean we shouldn't have a vote or a winner.

Yeah theres just been tons of news and stories on the Kerry votes being irregular. But theres tons of stuff about Bush's. Books, reports, all this fucking evidence. The ironic thing is, try googling something about "criminal activity on the Democratic side" or "criminal activity by Kerry" and all you come up with is information about votes being switched from Kerry to Bush and Republicans tainting the election. I tried several different things because, I thought you might have a point, and, unlike you, I am willing to accept that something may have happened. But yeah, its hilarious that trying to find this information about your so called "criminal activity" just supports my point. Thank you.

You are ignorant. Just because he got the votes, does not mean that he got them legitimately. There is several accounts of votes being switched from Kerry, to Bush. So, in that way, Bush got those votes, but did he get them legitimately? NO. Try using your brain for once.

The guy still won by 7 million votes.
Democrats worry too much about what Republicans do instead of doing something or electing someone with quality. If the Democrats could not even get someone close enough to George W. Bush, they really have problems.

I dont completely understand the last sentence, but I am assuming you meant that we couldnt elect somebody who could beat GW in an election, they have problems. With that I say, you are godddamn right. It is truly amazing that 54 million or however many people believed in that man. Its mind boggling to me.

I had a dilemma. I didn't like Bush or Gore or Kerry. I had liked Bush originally, but he's lost his touch (if he ever had one). My family all voted for him and almost all of them are pretty upset. I hope McCain is up for 2008. I love McCain.

You clearly didnt switch it on because what I said had nothing to do with point of view. You said that just because Bush got the votes, that the votes were automatically completely legitimate, that it doesnt matter if he cheated to get them, that if there was anything criminal about the way he got votes, no problem. How ironic that your own biased point of view completely disallowed you to even see what I said. All that I was trying to say was that, just because Bush got more votes than Kerry in the end, it does not mean that he won fairly, because of all the evidence saying that there was all this vote changing and other things that happened that led to Bush getting more votes unfairly. But I know that was really hard to figure out, so I will let you have another shot at trying to defend yourself.

See you say you are open-minded because you look at the other side, but you only believe the other side just like the right wing is not open-minded to see the other side...Either way, both sides are not open-minded and bias.

Search engines don’t work in the way you’re supposing above that they do, nor is the most actuate or truthful information the info that is most readily available.
Again, whose fanatical base is more active on the Internet? Where do most of the conspiracy site tend to lean and why? Are bloggers true reporters?
To use a search engine right you have to know what you're looking for. Example type: St. Louis judge orders voting kept open. And what do we find that a far left liberal judge in a far left liberal city illegal kept the polls open so that thousands of voters were illegally able to vote.
http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=Judge+Polls+kept+open&ei=UTF-8&fr=FP-tab-web-t&x=wrt
Type; Charges in GOP tire slashing, and what do you find? That 5 Wisconsin democrats were tired and convicted of suppressing voter turn out in 2004(notice the CONVICTION).
http://www.jsonline.com/story/index.aspx?id=295825
Before you thank me, or continue to make yourself look like every other mentally inept youth, get your head out of your ass and learn the difference between fact and partisan fiction. Fraud is only in the eye of the loser. What do you think your “reports” or “books” care more about the truth (which includes both parties) or finding a way to make their side the winner? Bush won every recount in Florida, even the one done by Gore’s standards where only liberal counties were recounted. No case could be made out of the “findings” in Ohio.
You can create conspiracy theories forever but eventually life goes on, at least until the next election. Where i'm sure that the losing party will again do as the Democrats have done in 00' and 04' and look for ways outside of themselves to explain why they lost the election. Blaming it on "fraud" is just easier then questioning ones own beliefs and why the people don't want them.
